New to posting in EQ2 flames, but i've been browsing a good while. Anyhow i've got a little weapon dilema and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Currently I have GDOH, absolution, thirneg's thorn, and the qeynos kilij (the one hander). I'll be getting the sabre swords of destiny reward probably fairly soon after GU36 hits.

Was wondering

1. which weapon to use in my offhand (sabre will be going in the mainhand)

and

2. What I should adorn the sabre / offhand with

Use grinning dirk as your offhand, the rest of those weapons are nothing special and you will want to keep with the big hitter.

As for adorns, if your piercing is low, maybe consider the + pierce, but only if its very low. Otherwise I would personally recommend the power tap adorn.

gdoh in offhand. for the adornment. most assassins like the phantom handle for mana. i use the vampiric even tho its only ~20 - 25ext dps.

do you want the slower weapon in your off hand as a general rule?

Yeah I was thinking the phantom on the sabre, then + piercing on the GDOH, but on my server the piercing is 12p, and well. Yeah... anyways so GDOH in the offhand? I figured but didn't really want to admit to myself the shiny new weapon I got and did 24 quests for was going to be useless =/

I could be wrong, but weapon speed isn't an issue for the offhand like it is for the mainhand. Procs are based on main hand weapon base speed, so the only thing I've ever looked for in an off hand weapon was max damage (with a little consideration to stats and +pierce type things).

So yeah, basiaclly what I'm saying is GDoH. for off hand.

1. SoD primary, GDoH secondary is what I will use. If you get bisected sabre I'd put whichever you have more melee skill on as primary. (Most likely this would be SoD primary sabre secondary).


2. Scintilatting Phantom Pithe (power drain). It's legendary and uber.

To add to this topic : put your highest melee skill, highest delay weapon in your primary hand. Since SoD and GDoH are both 4.0 delay it doesn't truly matter.

You want your weapon to:
1.) hit
and
2.) enhance your proc %s through haste while missing fewest auto-attacks.

Ok, thanks for the replies everyone. The +pierce adornment should only cost 8p versus what it is now for it's relative benefit
