It may make sense for some assassin to use slashers, but the better your gear gets, the clearer it becomes. When you have to use +slash mod gear rather then what is "dps appropriate" and available, something is wrong. Using a fragment of the chime for instance over a t7 str/agi crafted ring to support a "great weapon" that you cant hit shit with... /shrug

doesn't make much sense if dps is your primary concern. my take on it anyway.

Sadly, its not the case right now since the only other 4sec piercing weapon is 1 and a half years old. The only things you really have to sacrifice is the avatar belt (when i am long ways into str/dps dominishing returns or caped anyway) and probably use a slashing adornment, but you are getting crits in return and a weapon that actually does good dps.
