Stuck on a DPS Plateau

My Problem:

I am still what you might call a new Assassin, betrayed on 7/18 and have read the other DPS threads here and on the EQ2 Forums as I figured it would take a week or two to get use to my new character. The problem is that I'm stuck in the 1600-1700 zone wide plateau and I can't seem to top it. As a Ranger I was closing in on the 3k zone wide mark and I figured I'd at least hit 2k as an Assassin. I didn't lose much for gear when I betrayed, only had 3 pieces of KoS Relic (Chest, Legs and Boots) and I have gotten back the Relic chest and Boots as an Assassin.

In regards to CA order I always lead with my debuffs then wait for Dispatch (if there's a Brigand on the raid) to be called before I use any of my bigger CAs.

I'm never in the same group, so sometimes I'll have a Dirge or an Illusionist (Ranger will get IA so I'll just get the haste from the Illusionist) and other times I'll end up buffless or with an Inquisitor.

The MMIS parse I was using Vyemm's Fang as my primary through a little less then half the zone as that's where I won my Rapier of Darkness. My offhand for that zone was the Dark Linger as I wanted a proc'ing offhand.

I dont see anything that jumps out. Id start with dots before debuffs personally so you get more ticks. Other than that grp setup is huge and better weapons will help you get higher.

What grp did you have for these parses, thats really the only thing besides better weapons thats going to affect DPS any, everything else looks to be in good order.

- masked/attack puncture should be higher. use them all the time they are up. put them together on your hotbar.
- your autoattack hit% is not very good. get more +skills. at a minimum keep the +hit HO (swindler) up.

Well my slashing is horrible and my piercing is at 400 in offensive stance, so I picked up a Bloodspiller tonight and going to test it against the Infirmity.

Looks like my slashing does 2% less then my piercing auto attack, but the Infirmity proc made up 2% of my total DPS so will be interesting to see how much 2% melee crit chance off the bloodspiller will help/hinder my DPS.

What's your gear?

One thing you can do with your AAs is get Exacting.

Having decent weapons would make a large difference as well.

Wheres your MMiS parse? couldn't see it..

Get a Thirnegs Thorn made or try and buy the GDoH off broker.
Group with a Dirge more often if possible (Skill buff, Str buff, CoB, etc)

Other than that, i can't see much wrong tbh.

PS: Finishing Blow max 6.8k? try using Exacting with it.

As a ranger you had the best weapon in game, RSB. As an assassin you have mediocre ones (Infirmity / Vyem's Fang) and an ok-ish one (RoD). So when it comes to gear you lost alot, it's no wonder your parses suck.

- Get the +2% to crit jewelry set from the league quests and get rid of the dps earring. With adornments we are above the soft dps cap you don't need dps buffs.
- Get the Claymore PoA reward that gives +30 to all stats or do Nizara runs until you get the diamond bangle.
- Get the Planar Orb of the Wanderer. If you sold it or picked the wrong one petition to get it.
- What's your pierce at? If it's low get two +5 pierce adornments.
- If it's not the Bisected Saber or the Pick from Avatar of below you shouldn't be using slashing weapons. At all.
- Agreed with what others said, get DoN from broker / HoS or do the SoD quests and get the leg. reward.
- Five points in Dirty Tricks is dumb. The CA refreshes too fast already as it is. Move them to Freezing Strike to solo better or to Enhance: Mastery Strikes.
- Get used to use Exacting it'll help alot with your dps.

Good call, forgot about that since it was useless to me as a Ranger, will make sure to have that for next raid on Wednesday.

I have yet to even start Claymore, I just need one more AoA x4 Dragon to move my haste to my wrist so I can get a stat belt.

Can I petition to get that back? Sold it to a vender because again, basically useless for a Ranger, that and I did that like a year ago or so.

Yeah I had a crap offhand, and I wanted something that proc'd on it's own because adornments don't proc on the offhand that's why I picked it up.

Been doing HoS/LoA for DoN and GDoH with no luck so far, and I am doing the SoD quests, just finished getting all my statues last night.

I switched it to that because as of right now I don't have many master strikes (looks like I better get my ass in gear to do LnL) and I don't ever solo...ever. It's not that I can't, I just prefer not to, nor would I ever have to cause I have Juuni with me all the time.

Good call, I rarely use it now, I'll have to get in the habit of using it basically everytime it's up.
