Default Ranged Attacks

So I'm at the point where im fairly confident im maximising my autoattack and melee CA abilities, but I feel like I'm missing some large potential increase to my dps through ranged attacks.

At this point i rarely, if ever, use ranged attacks at all. There always seems to be some CA thats up for me to use, be it a debuff or a dot, and I can't tell if its worth backing out for a quick ranged attack and losing the melee autoattacks that I would normally get in during that time.

I'm using GDoH and Soulfire at sit at 36% melee crits with a bard and my bow is some middle of the line thing off Sarik with crafted ammo, so I'm not sure that a ranged attack and the ranged auto attack that most likely would fire with it would be better.

I was wondering if and how you guys work ranged attacks into your casting order.

I use my ranged attacks right after my concealment chain as if there is no lag I can use my entire concealment in ~3 seconds and have 4 seconds of no auto attack so I just use my ranged CA's and 1 bow here.

Interesting idea. I have been using ranges since I got Mayong's bow basically when I run out of CAs to cast. Will try your method.

You can auto-attack normally if you just toggle the melee button a bunch.

That's a good idea, it quite annoys me not being able to melee auto attack when I'm through my stealth attacks and concealment is still running. Toggeling melee auto attack all the time is sure still a loss of DPS. I'll try this out.

Thanks for the tip Cochy. Tried it out in FTH and MMIS last night and was seeing about 300 more dps when I was remembering to do it.

Now if they would just fix the cloak of woven leaves like they said they would.....

You don't lose much dps by toggling unless you're really slow. I'm not saying it's better than doing some ranged, just that it's an option. For me it's particularly easy with 2 weapons with the same delay - you don't lose any.
