Noob thread: DPS range

hey guys,

I was in a group in CoV the other night, me (68 assassin), Zerker, Guard and templar. My STR was around 420ish in this group and I'm specc'd STR/INT in the KoS tree and down the bleeding line in EoF (only 65ish AAs atm). In my main hand I have the Dark Linger and in the offhand Grizzfazzle Dirk. My armor is only xegonite and rings are acrylia STR/AGI band. Poison is Exceptional Causitic and Gracelessness

My CA sequence is as follows: Intoxication (pre-pull) > Slip Away > Murderous Assault (not 70 yet for Cloaked Assault) > Malignant Mark > Enmesh > Constriction > Poison Combination > Exacting > 3 dots > Mask Attack > Jugular > Improved Surveil > Killing Blade > Crippling Strike > Paralyzing Strike > Finishing Blow ( if < 20%).

That's the general order. Is there anything wrong with that sequence? I parsed 850 ZW with this group. Is that a decent ZW parse?

Now that I think about it, lol I'm missing several upgraded spells and several other spells that don't get upgraded (Concealment). Are Concealment, Apply Poison, Finishing Blow and Exacting the only CA we have that don't get upgraded? BTW do you guys ever put Contrived Weapon, Neck shot, Spitting Asp or Assailing Blast in your CA sequence?

This sounds very similar to my casting order. I would make some tweeks but you may get better results with what you are already used to.

I'm not sure if you are saying you don't have concealment (and the other Ancient Teachings) yet or just confirming that they don't upgrade (which they don't). At lvl 68 you should have them all by now. If you don't have a brig in the group or raid if you're raiding, and you aren't waiting for Dispatch, I'd go with something like this:

Intoxication (pre-pull) > Slip Away > Murderous Assault > Malignant Mark > Enmesh > Constriction > Poison Combination > Exacting > crippling strike > 3 dots > paralysing Strike > Concelament > Masked Attack > All backstabs > and then hit whatever's up till the mob is < 20% for finishing blow.

Got a hot tip from Cochy yesterday for after teh backstabs in the concealment chain you can back out and do your ranged attacks which worked real nice for me but on heroic fights the mob will probably be near dead before then.

It also looks like you are following up masked attack with jugular. Since MA and puncture blade are on the same short recast, you should try to always pair them up so that you can combo them often. They will be a large portion of your dps.

Other then that it looks like you are doing well to me. Everyone has their little differences in casting order but you seem to have the basics down.

Thanks ALOT for your comment! I do not have concelment for some odd reason. Will definitely get that tonight. Is the 850 ZW parse decent at 68 in CoV?

I dont think I even knew about concealment until I was 70 or almost 70. Another thing I so is our HO. Swindlers luck is worth trying to keep up. In instances like CoV, I never have time to do my regular combat chain. The mob is dead before I get to the conceal portion. So, once the fight starts, I do slaughterassault, bounty (I'ze gots ta get paid yo), MM, lucky break, enmesh, scraping blow, flowing wound, deadly wound, masked, puncture, concealment, crippling strike, eviscerate, then the highest damage BS's I have till the mo is dead. I can often only get off 1 big BS, so sometimes I'll just used surveillance and the BS. Especially now that I am wis spec'd, I expect that to work better for me in doing instances.

850 is a good zonewide parse for level 68.

Love the ranged attacks personally, and with a nice bow with a damage proc, I imagine the DPS should be decent.

My assassin is still lvl 61 so I'm not quite able to do a DPS comparison with the different aa setups or chains.
