    any other non-caster thinks the spell dmg is ridiculously OP now, i mean every ice comet 1 shots shit and id rather not talk about locks... ?

    Read the 100 other threads about this here and the official forums. It isn't getting changed. Eat the death and be happy. No rez effects/debt/gear damage equals it out.

    ya like being fucking stunned for by scouts then ganked is even more fun.....

    Mages without the ability to kill fast are dead period. Single target instant kills are a necessity to even bother playing a mage in Pvp.

    If you want to talk about group wide near instant kills ... eh warlock....then that might be a good point. Honestly not sure being able to wipe out 6 people wit 1 spell in a couple seconds is really balanced ....

    Unless I spell double attack, 10% of the time, only 1 spell would be able to 1 shot you from afar. If you were close up for Fusion or Blast of devastation, then you might get 1 shotted. But anyone who runs into the cone for that spell is a retard and deserves to die. I've had many people see me cast Fusion and just run behind me before i can turn. It isn't hard...

    I think I can get off 2-5 spells to kill, in that time the scout should be able to run in and cheap shot me. Ive also used Freehand + Catalyst on Ice Comet on a tank and only dropped him to 60% hp before... I'm not sure if he had wards or what, but I'm just saying.

    It's not retardely unbalanced for me. But I am sure it can be frustrating for a scout to keep getting blown away. In the same regard it has always been frustrating for me to /duel scouts in PVE and not have 1 spell land and to sit back and be chained stunned until dead...

    Just from wizard point of view. I am not sure how balanced a lock 1 shotting an entire group is.

    Basically if your a mage and your NOT a Sorcerer then don't bother. The amount of damage being dished out by sorcerers makes it pointless to play any other mage.

    what about Conj they are the best BG mages out there with the pet that can kill any 1 even if the conj has no LoS on the target? i play a conj and i dont think i have ever been out dps'd by any mage or any class for that matter at least in BG. and in raids conj is usually top zonewide but should lose to single target trash mobs to wizy or assasins. i know most conj players really suck thats why there were all of 3 80 conj's in tso who accually pvpd. now with the changes i see a lot of newby conjys begging for power lvling. i am glad people still underestimate conj's tho keep up the good work you newbs who play em cause i still get tells and comments about how some1 has never seen a conj do that much dmg.

    take away sorc manashield and chanter mez and i will concede the point.

    spell damage is too outrageous considering even if you manage to close with a sorcerer they pop manashield and get extra time to kill you while you attempt to deplete their mana.



    The idea should be the same as pve.... mage cant take a hit so the tank taunts to keep agro and the mage keeps casting.... scouts job is to kill the enemy mages/healers while the tanks keeping them busy...

    a mage being able to "handle it all without trouble" is stupid

    tbh I don't roll with manashield speced; if I solo, group, raid, or BG it's always with DPS spec. Then again I only play 80-89 BGs, so I really don't die much. I am usually rolling with 2-5 deaths per match cause I get cocky and try to run in and Fusion an entire group. I wouldn't be totally against a nerf to manashield in BGs. It's more of a crutch and there are a ton of other ways to boost survivability for a sorc... well I can't talk much for locks, but wiz yes.

    I hope SOE doesn't go overboard with the spell damage nerf and mimick the PVE /duel rules. I don't know how it is in pvp, but PVE is shitty for /duels. As a sorc I can't do anything cause I would say 80% of my spells is resisted. What isn't resisted hits for less than an Illy. I can only cast immolation (unresistable spell) so many times. Then again I might just suck at PVE duels. =)
