Default So, the GMs wanted me to post this...

I posted it on the SOE forums, but as its as likely a dev will answer there as it is to snow this sunday in hell, I thought I would just post it here to, to remind everyone how much the GMs care for us all. =)

Rip me if you want, Im not bothered, I just needed to vent.

    Petition 100527-000501

    Subject
    Battlegrounds theft

    Discussion Thread

Customer (kanaellars soe) 05/27/2010 11:08 AM
the players deserve a right to balance, and should not be punished for starting to use Battlegrounds when they went live.

right now, we have been robbed.

We deserve a refund on the infearior battlegrounds armour that we have bought, or at the very least, a refund of the additional tokens we paid due to the now lower prices.

i paid 100 tokens (50 and 50) for an item that is now 35 and 35..... and a new, better item is now up for the price I originally paid.

    how is that fair?

Is it now policy to cheat the players that are paying you for this game?

seriously, battlegrounds is hours and hours of work, now wasted.

when do we get a fix?

Response (GM Bllaaze) 05/28/2010 08:36 AM
    Greetings Kanaellars!

While in-game customer service cannot alter the design of the game, I wanted you to know that I have forwarded your concerns about this matter to our development team. Unfortunately, I cannot say

whether or not this will be changed in the future, but I wanted to thank you for providing feedback on this.

I am also not able to reimburse you any tokens you feel were unfairly charged prior to prices going down, I am sorry.

Thank you for playing Everquest 2.

Safe Travels in and out of Norrath,

    GM Bllaaze

Customer (kanaellars soe) 05/28/2010 08:42 AM
Im sorry, but as I strongly feel that this is a grossly unfair and unjust treatment of your playerbace, I cannot accept that as a fair answer to my question, and as such, I will continue to keep

this ticket open and running until a more satisfactory answer is found.

If no answer is found before my account payment date, my account, my wifes, and both of our secondary accounts (all with station passes) will likely cease to be paid.

SOE cannot treat thier players this way.

Response (GM Audleigh) 05/28/2010 09:02 AM
    Greetings Kanaellars!

This is GM Audleigh, following up with you regarding your BG armor. Unfortunately, as GM Bllaaze mentioned to you, we will not be able to reimburse you the tokens which you spent on your BG armor.

I am sorry that this is not the answer you were looking for, however our policy prevents us from doing so. Norrath is an ever changing realm, and game play is subject to change. I want to stress

that we have submitted your feedback regarding this issue to our Development Team, and it is ultimately their decision to implement any changes.

If you have any further concerns, please feel free to submit another petition, and we will be happy to assist you.

    Sincerely,
    GM Audleigh

The below case is clearly NOT solved, so why was it marked as if it was?

Escalate this if needed, contact me back, find a fix, but this case is NOT solved, so do not mark it as such.

It can stay on your system as unresolved until a solution can be found.

Please dont alienate your player base any further.

    Greetings Kanaellars,

This is GM Audleigh, again. I have escalated your petition to a Lead GM, as you have requested. Someone should reply to you as soon as possible.

If you have any other In-Game concerns, please feel free to submit another petition, and we will be glad to assist you.

Thank you very much. I eagerly await a resoluton to this issue.

I hope that a soluton can be found quckly, as I have apprised my guild of the status of this petition, and they are all awaiting the answer now as well.

We sincerely hope that an offer of refund or compensation can be made quickly, to bring things back to a fair playing field.

Response (Lead GM Duzenserver) 05/29/2010 08:09 PM
    Hi Kanaellars,

This Lead GM Dunzensever, as requested. Unfortunately, from the looks of things, I'm not going to be able to alter the answers that have already been given to you, and this is in fact why your case

was considered solved. You have reached the end of what we can offer you as CS. Your request would require the game's actual design to change, and that's not something CS can do, or will ever be

able to do. We can suggest changes and fixes to development, but we cannot enforce or dictate them.

Things change in this game all the time, items are updated, prices are altered, and it is up to players to find ways of adapting to these changes. There will be no fix offered here because there

just isn't anything to fix - it's working as designed. If you don't like the design, you can appeal to the developers and try to get the word out, but I'm being absolutely frank here when I say

there is nothing that CS can do in this situation. We can't change the game, and we cannot mitigate alterations in the game (unless of course it comes from a bug).

I feel for you, and I'm not trying to be a jerk at all, but this isn't a situation where I or anyone else in CS can lend you a hand. In spite of that, I sincerely hope that this reaches you and

your guild well, and that you have a better rest of your night.

    Regards,

    Lead GM Dunzensever
    EverQuest II

Customer (kanaellars soe) 05/30/2010 01:51 AM
While I am coming to understand that you are as hampered by a bad system as I am, that still does not solve the issue that I have lost a huge number of hours on battlegrounds tokens that have for

intents and purposes been made worthless and useless, how do we continue?

You say the developers need to make the change. Will one of them be contacting me then? Or how do I contact them?

Which is resopnsible for battlegrounds armor, so that I can request them when attempting contact?

I'm sorry, but I am not just another typical whining player wanting a handout.

I feel cheated by this change, in fact, I dont feel cheated, but I have been cheated, and I would like an answer as to why.

Was the armor unfinished? Were we playtesting on the live servers yet again?

This company has taken my money for EQ and now EQ2 for almost 15 years, and yet they still cannot treat thier player base with basic respect.

When will I hear from a Dev, or how do I email them directly?

That is how you can help me.

Response (Lead GM Duzenserver) 05/30/2010 04:18 PM
    Hi Kanaellars,

You can appeal the change on the forums. as that's the best and most reliable way for getting their attention. There are a few of them who are pretty active on the boards. I do have to warn you

though, this change was a deliberate one. It's not unlike a car company putting out a new better model at the same price the previous year sold for. New items that are better than old items will

make it into the game - it's just the nature of the beast. I'm sorry that you feel your time was wasted, but you did get use out of that equipment.

    Regards,

    Lead GM Dunzensever
    EverQuest II

Customer (kanaellars soe) 05/31/2010 03:23 PM
    Everquest is not a car.

If the desision to make obsolete armor barely 2 months old was made in that spirit, then are we to expect new armor every 2 months? Are our hours of work going to be made worthless every time we

    get half a set?

If that is what you are saying, please say now. I will make SURE to tell everyone that, and it will be the death of BG.

No one will spend hours and hours on gear that will be outdated before we finish buying it.

Response (CS Manager Ima "Sentana" Somers) 06/01/2010 11:20 AM
    Hello Kanaellars,

I wished I could confirm or deny your question whether we're going to continue to change gear every two months. In reality though, as a customer service representative I do not have that

    information available.
As Lead GM Dunzensever said, the changes to the battleground token PvP gear was a design decision. We have definitely send all feedback that customer service received to our development department,

but ultimately the designers make this game.

To give our development and design team the "liberty" to make changes we are very explicit in our wording and messaging to our player base that this can happen. We state: SOE has been, is, and will

be constantly making changes to its games. You further acknowledge that SOE can and will, in its discretion, modify features, functions or abilities of any element of the game or any Virtual Goods

(which may, among other things, make the Virtual Goods substantially more effective or functional, or less effective or functional, more common or less common, or eliminated entirely).

I can assure you that our developers rather not make changes either, yet they are sometimes necessary for the "greater good" of the game. (Whether it be balancing issues or for reasons that the

change has to fit in the overall design, I'll leave that up to the developer to answer on our forums). This also means that we are aware that there is always a group of players that feel cheated

    and not listened to.

I understand that you currently feel this way about the changes that where made to your armor. I definitely want to acknowledge that we are aware of that and that we take responsibility for these

changes, yet this does not mean that we'll reverse them or exchange the armor that you bought with the tokens 2 months ago.

    Regards,
    Head GM Sentana

Customer (kanaellars soe) 06/04/2010 06:13 AM
I have, since the writing of this petition, spoken to 2 separate in game GMs, who have both informed that new armor will be coming out again, and that even they agree it is far too soon, and poorly

    implemented.

When will we get more information about this?

When do the SOE devs plan to listen to thier players and not rob us?

Will we ever get content that is actually tested on test, and not playtested on live servers?

In fact, speaking of that, the Devs have been promising a server merge to at least do SOMETHING to help the UK players to at least be able to get into battlegrounds to replace the armor we were

screwed on.... and even that hasnt happened.

Response (CS Manager Ima "Sentana" Somers) 06/04/2010 02:00 PM
    Hello Kanaellars,

For answers to all your questions I will have to refer you to our forums. You raise valid questions, however for our development team and not customer service.
Therefore please visit EverQuest II - Discussion Boards and direct your questions in the proper area's to our development team.

As for customer service, we are not able to assist you with this issue and consider it therefore as closed.

    Regards,
    Head GM Sentana

Uhm, they lower the price of old armor so that newer players can get into the game. Then they add newer better armor so that you still have a point to play.

    You deserve no refund, period.

You shouldn't get a refund but I do think an upgrade system would have been better. Either way suck it and earn more tokens cuz its never gonna happen.

Anyone with half a brain knew this change was coming with the GU like a month in advance, plenty of time to save more then enough tokens to buy a full set the first day.

exactly hell most people wernt buying any gear for the last 2 months cuz they were waiting, i bought the set of old bg gear thou so it would kinda give me a point to bging at all to get the new stuff, imo shoulda made the bg gear alot more expensive double or tripple the price, its so fucking easy to get....
in one day u can get all the gear that requires just the gears and ganak tokens, the x4 takes a little longer maybe 2 days ? in 4 or 5 days u can get an entire suit of bg gear.... thats ridiculously easy

I love all these people saying its "so easy to get".

You MUST be on the US servers.

While on the UK servers we can get cogs easily, to get ganak trophies you MUST play between 8pm and 11pm on thursday or friday night, and to get rum you MUST be logged in and queing on a saturday from 3pm until 11pm, because that is the only time they run at all.

Explain to me how "easy" that is to get?

it´s totally dumb to bitch about that. you did what to get the "now useless" armor? pvp.
you wanted that "now useless armor" for what?more pvp.
now you need new armor and to get that you need to do what?more pvp.

so where exactly did you waste your time? you would only have wasted it if your plan
was to get the best available bg gear and stop doing pvp after you have gotten it ^^

If you want PvP gear, play on the PvP server?

I have never once stated the armor I have purchased is "useless". Just that it is inferior, and that I would not have spent tokens on it had the other option been there.

As it is, with the difficulty of getting into BGs on the Euro servers, I feel we are well within our rights to feel cheated.

I find it very odd that having posted this here and on the EQ2 forums, the response there has been quite positive, and here the complete opposite.

Maybe Im just not "hardcore" enough for this site.
