    Default Question about crit bonus

I have been reading through the forums and it seems that people are saying Crit Chance does nothing in the BG's.

Is this true? (If not, please explain the differences between CB and CC as best you can)

Default Re: Question about crit bonus

All you need is 100% Critical chance to determine whether or not you have the chance to crit on the other player. 100% critical chance means you will crit on the player if they do not have critical mitigation higher than your current critical bonus. Higher than 100% critical chance does not make any difference in whether you crit or not - we are not under a PvE ruleset.

Critical bonus, however, is very important in determining whether you crit on a player or not. You must have a critical bonus above the critical mitigation of the player you are fighting to be able to crit on them (assuming you have 100% critical chance). Determining your critical bonus is a litte harder than just looking under "PvP" stats, as every class has their own "innate critical bonus". You can check your innate critical bonus by hovering over the critical bonus stat, and you will see that as an Assassin you have "150% Base Melee Crit", which means you innately crit 50% harder (you have 50% innate critical bonus). So add this 50% to your Critical bonus stat (say you have 90% critical bonus from gear) -- You have 140% critical bonus. This means that on any player that does not have 140%+ critical mitigation you will be critting on them. This does not count in your PFT/other abilites which will add a large base % to your critical bonus, which would require the opposing player to have much higher critical mitigation to negate your crits.
