    did anyone do the math?
150 new tokens = 6 old tokens (discord)
cheapest t2 pvp gear ~6000 new tokens
old gear cost 100-120 old tokens
    so
    6000/150*6 = 240
    + new tokens are no-trade
so they doubled-tripled the token cost for gear

token grind was boring last year and boring in SF and their idea of fun is an even bigger grind?

Did you factor in the number of tokens from BGs?

By the way, what math are you using to figure 6000 tokens for the cheapest T2 gear?
One piece of T2 gear is like 1600, or did you mean T3?

    I don't see the problem?

You either just want to get all the gear so you can cross it off your list or
you might possibly enjoy BG/PVP and are rewarded over the following months.

The gear isn't super important anyway, with all the diminishing returns,
it will be the 1% that seperates pvp enthusiasts from randoms.

T3 then, I seperated by the merchants selling that gear, the 91-92 merchant has 2 sets so I called it T1 and T2 and see the legendary gear as the entrance ticket, no one uses legendary gear on their main anyway.

eq2 pvp wasn't fun ever since pvp stats were introduced
grinding tokens is not my idea of having fun in pvp
especially when the gear you ground out becomes obsolete in the next expansion
I enjoyed eq2 pvp when you had to do quests and farm mobs for rare drops
eq2 pvp for me now is do the 2 dailies, get WF tagged, solo quest on alts or grind exp/aa or log out.

random solo encounters while questing were fun, random dungeon group encounters were fun, the KP zerg was fun
the goal was to have fun now the goal is to grind tokens to eventually show off your epeen yawn
no surprises, ok 800 more tokens and I can upgrade this legendary crap to something eventually worth wearing oh hey 4k more tokens and I can upgrade it to something worth adorning. it's a mindless grind w/o a background. back when pvp was fun the motivation was to win and stay alive so you could continue doing what you did. now it doesn't matter if you win or lose. don't want to fight just hop away hopeedeehop.
I don't see what justifies 2-3x the token cost of gear especially now that tokens are no-trade.
it took me about 3 months of mostly soloing WFs last year / char to have all rage-fused gear and adorns and most of the useful jewelry. I did it for 2 chars brig and zerker. no iwinbutton classes like warlock and sin. I did BGs occasionally for the adorns because you got tokens anyway.
back in the days being good at pvp required knowledge of the world of which mob drops what and how it could be used in a certain way.it required farming a certain mob and eventually also fighting off someone else who wanted to farm this mob.
now it's a mindless grind. no knowledge involved. and the grind just tripled. so after about 9 months lol my main and my main only will be fully pvp geared and maybe even adorned. which leaves about 3 months of uhm yeah now I'm in the grind mentality what will I grind with the fully geared char? why should I even grind? the whole grind philosophy defeats itself. good pvp isn't about grinding for tokens to upgrade special pvp gear WoW style. there are people designing pvp content who have never played a good pvp game in their life. "uh eh i dunno what to do let's just copy WoW. yeah I don't have any ideas on my own so I'll do just that." and no 9 months of grind won't make me renew my sub. it will make me log in almost every day to do the dailies and get WF flagged every 2 hours once or twice tho until I get annoyed. not my idea of having fun.
why did you move off naggy when pvp is so awesome now and there is no problem with triple the grind?
y'all are big talkers but fled the server at the 1st opportunity. well I have 4 transfer tokens ready maybe I'll do just the same not sure yet. but where are or are there even people left in this game whos primary goal is to have fun but also treat playing their main as an art form? I don't think so, so I might aswell stay where I am.

I don't remember how many tokens you got in old BGs, so no.
I went by WF win = 6 old tokens which now is 150 tokens

i guesstimated when i first saw the vendors and figured it was around 90k tokens. that instantly made me zone out and i haven't been back. 120k is straight hilarious

I have a Wizard that is mostly t3/gear/adorns and what isn't is T2. I spent a lot of hours grinding and a lot of it was not fun. I did primarily because I am a solo player and there is really no other option as a solo player to get decent gear. On the upside for the last half of the grind I managed to make enough contacts that I almost always played with a prepped group so the winning became a far more frequent event with better rewards. It started to be fun mostly due to the social aspect of it. It is amazing to me the simple strategies that apply to the BG's that folks can't seem to grasp and how a few grouped players that know how to play can turn an entire battle around. Go figure.
