Yes, some are more offensive, some more defensive. Some are more caster-like, some are more melee. This will all need to be tested a whole lot better for the purposes of raids, groups, etc based on each dungeon, type of fight, etc. In my experience, I would use the Dire pet for single target dps, the Drake pet for AE dps, etc. I played a Kerran, so did leveling with the feline pet, then swapped to Avian. Not sure I can say that I did enough to determine a "best pet" for any scenario.

"Tame Exotic Warder" is an AA ability acquirable after level 80. It's the endline of the second AA tree (think the abilities that were added in SF where Stampede [Mystic] is a correlate).

One thing you didn't mention is the stacking buff is also an insane dps increase. It lasts 15 seconds, and a 6 stack for feral was 60% cb, 40% ma, 10% flurry. 6 stack for spiritual was 60% cb, 70% recov, 40% cast, 10% reuse (I think, not sure). Stacks also drain savagery, about 1 level per 4-6 seconds. If you're at a 6 stack it drains 2 levels per 3-4 seconds.

And it isn't just the damage of the next primal, it's all primals technically. All primals are modified by feral/spiritual level and savagery level. I don't know the math for the damage abilities but the 20-44% potency buffs work at 20% base, +2% for each savagery level and +2% for each feral/spiritual stack. To give an example on how the damage ability modifiers work, with savagery level 6 and a 5 stack of feral, my claw of khati sha that tooltips at 16000-28000ish solo had a high hit of just over 700k on an epic dummy.

I tested between staggering primals to try to keep the temp buffs up as long as possible or just blowing them out in one big burst every time they're up and the burst won every time because of not enough savagery generation.

Also, some warders will not do more dps than others, but you will need to grandmaster them anyway to get the ability you unlock for grandmastering them. See: Avian.

I'll be honest, I didn't even realize the buff piece or super savagery cost. I had been perplexed by why my savagery was eroded so fast lol. I would build Savagery 6, hit Savagery freeze, build up to Feral/Spirituality 6 with all the Primals. Soon as Savagery Freeze dropped, I was stunned how fast Savagery dropped. Makes sense.

Class is so cool in its complexity. Definitely will take a bit more tactical skill than many, many classes.

Buffrat, what did you use for the Heroic endline?

Tried the 100 Savagery one and the first one "Primal Agility?". Found the 100 Savagery one the most useful given its shorter recast.

I don't know if they screwed with the affinity leveling while i was playing, but my warders gained affinity much faster at lower levels. I'm not even sure I was using primal tactics all the time. I had 2 pets at grandmaster when i was killing in the enchanted lands, but once I hit 90 and kinda started figuring out what shit was, I think i gained one affinity level on 1 pet. I did a lot more combat after hitting 90 than before, but maybe it was because I killed mostly epic training dummies towards the end.
It's only weird if it doesn't work.

Has this class been tested in raiding situations? If so - how does it parse? Or...even on a training dummy how does it parse?

I probably spend 4-5 hours mowing down Sebilis solo and only got Expert on Mystical. That represents like 25% of the total bar. I'm sure it would be better/faster under other circumstances, but it's definitely an unusual timesink. Considering some will probably get 90/320 in the same time it takes to GM a single warder at 90.

this is absolutely true and i wish they would implement this type of play style to other classes. imo it would save the game from it self tbh.

this game has become too much of a spam fest revolving around gear, granted you can just spam on a beast lord as well but it will hurt your performance drastically or at least that is what i noticed while playing on beta for the short time i played.
