It's ridiculous that SOE hasn't explained this well enough to require a thread like this.

I second this, the EQ2 community (for the most part) is fairly good at figuring shit out, but the affinity is kinda bull shit. They could at least make it like the normal EXP bar and have a # value 349/1000. Or have it say how much affinity your pet gains. I'm told there is an add on that changes the bar but I have been to lazy to set it up.

somewhat related... I know exotic warders are harder/take longer to level than standard. does anyone know the conversion? IE you need 1000 affinity for a normal and 1500 for an exotic? or they gain it at 50%? I am trying to prioritize the order in which I level them. I know I want to do mystical, drake, dire, canine, feline, bat first but still figuring out the order of importance and if its more viable to do the normal warders before exotics.

There's a pet window that has affinity 1-1000, download it. Exotic warders are no harder to level than normal warders, 1000 is the cap for any warder type.

Also, just make an autohotkey macro that spams 1-7 every 50ms, keybind all of your primals/advantages in spiritual to those ksys, and run back and forth through mobs in Maulic's for 3 hours. Grats, you leveled a warder. Also, macro /target petname to every one of the advantages/primals.

Forgive me, but I am not familiar with an autohotkey. I've made plenty of macros but how does one make an auto macro? can you post a screen shot of yours or each line of it?

Isn't Maulic's the instance for The Return of the Light HQ? So you do all of the quest up to where you need that zone, but how do you avoid killing General Drull? It has been a while since I did it, but I think I remember 3 waves of orcs and Drull in the last one. If you kill him, can you go back into the zone again?

It's the same zone, don't have to have the quest to zone into it, though. And it doesn't matter if you kill drull, just don't kill the mobs in/on the two towers and the four groups of heroics will continuously respawn.

Take it with a grain of salt, but I found something I think is interesting.

Upon killing 20 random mobs I found that:

in spiritual stance letting my warder kill the mob with me only using warding advantage with autoattack off and only warder doing damage:

20 mobs yielded 54 affinity points ( got 3 points almost every fight)

another instance of killing 20 mobs in same area using siritual stance killing mob as quickly as possible, but absolutely making sure my warder got an "exposed weeakness" and using an advatage at least once in each fight:

20 mobs yielded 13 affinity points

Yes, I know in the time it takes the warder to kill one mob you can slaughter dozens more, so it's probably a wash out anyway.
Just wanted to share what I have observed so like I said, take it with a grain of salt.
