Default Veshan's Peak Raids

Hey everyone... I was wondering if there is ever a Veshan's Peak pickup raid? Im on the befallen server. I've been playing for over a year or so now...and I'm getting realyl tired of waisting my time raiding low teir 8 places since my guild only raids that area. Im all for helping them out and everything but I want to see some set gear for myself. So I was wondering if anyone does a Veshan's Peak pickup raid successfully or if you think its a terrible idea to even try a VP pickup? Or if any guilds have a spot in raid for a Swashie?

I'm not gonna say you're a moron, I'll just tell you this :

You need to kill T1-T2-t3 in order to even be able to zone into VP, there's not gonna be any pick-up raid in VP, ever. You may now delete your topic..

This doesn't really belong in the swashbuckler section...

Moved it to Befallen

Can Befallen even clear VP with a guild raid?

An update went in the game very recently that has now taken away needing to have back flagging from t2 to enter T3...and well we all know t3 is a joke, period. T1 has never been needed afaik and even if it is, pickups already run for those zones.

to the topic at hand though...I really don't see a pickup raid passing many names in there...that zone wasn't made for much mastercrafted/legendary oriented toons - is indeed an all orange con zone. You would need a pretty competent group as far as pickup raids go to have even a chance at making it not take hours to get to the first couple names.

It could happen, but there are a few things you would really need to nail:

- Get a great MT group. You really can't just wing it and assume a troub and conj in the MT group is cool. Get a really solid MT group who are familiar with each other as well as the zone.

- Fill the raid. We've done VP with 3 groups and sure, it's possible, but it's really quite un-fun. Anti-fun, if you will.

- Fill the raid properly. Build solid groups where the members augment each other's abilities; where they understand who to buff with what, and the nature of their role.

- Get the strats (even for trash) from guilds clearing the zone regularly.

I bet if you actually went in with an MT group and a few other key people from a guild familiar with the zone, you could do a pickup there. Unfortunately most people that fit that bill are already burning their timers with their own guild.

I voted yes, but only if I could go as a fly on the wall and watch a pickup Befallen VP raid. Awesome!

The only reason there is never going to be vp pickups is because like someone mentioned you need a solid Mt group. Basically you would need already established raiders in that Mt group to get anywhere beyond trash in vp and the only thing stopping it from happening is most likely lockout timers..

Dedicated and already established raiders cant fuck up their timers by running a pickup raid in vp on their mains due to the fact their main raid guild would most likely be fairly upset to hear their timer is fucked up..

Now they could run in their on an alt but chances are its not likely their geared up enough to MT it.. Soe would need to allow people unrestricted access to vp with allowing players to have main raid guild instances saved and pur instances saved..

I can hear people bitching about "too much loot" and being able to run in there uncontested would possibly unbalance things loot wise because players would be getting too much gear but I call bull shit on that cause the gear in there is pretty rare to begin with.. or the same fucking swash patterns drop for 2 months in a row, week in and week out..

I haven't counted all the names in there but after playing in a fairly high end raid guild with my assassin for the last 2 months, I can testify to the fact I got 1 piece of gear "ring of dark intent" in 2 months from vp.. The patterns are shared and theres just too many people in a raid who need gear to be getting "too much gear"..

One thing soe could try to do is make 2 variations to every raid zone in rok by allowing some to be x2 raids with a max capacity for 2 groups (12 players) and if theres 13 players trying to zone in one gets kicked out.. But also keeping it so you can zone into a x4 vp raid zone.. Then just adjust the loot a bit in accordance with the overall difficulty. I'd keep every encounter the same just adjust the hitpoints of the mobs to be more inline with what 2 groups would put out for dps.. Probably something like 20-25/30k raidwide instead of 50-70k raid wide dps..

With the above mentioned x2 or x4 raid zones available to players coupled with unrestricted access, thats probably when you would start to see more vp pur's, but not only that more successful vp pickup raids.. But a lot of the more hardcore raiders would most certainly oppose it since they like to look down upon other people in lesser gear, and like to keep it that way.. Its an ego thing, when it should be more about making it a fun-thing.. After all, it is a game meant for entertainment and fun.
