I see a lot of people talk about PvP, Tanking and soloing. But with the new aa mirror I would like to see what others are doing for straight up max Melee dps. For when we don't have to MA/MT and just want to have fun out dpsing everyone else.

Here is my thought. Using Dual weild.

Str. 4/8/8
Agi. 4/8/8
Int. 4/8/8/8/2

Belly smash would blow so not even gonna go down that route and waste 8 points to get CA dps. I put 8 into Parry on the Int line because I ran out of places to put it that were worth a damn.

You only get 70 points and you left out the 1 for bind wound, but besides that it looks viable. You do lose the benefits of buckler reversal (double attack 60%, and the actual reversal part), and the arguments are still going about that versus dual wield, but anyhow. Probably would depend on weapons/shield as well.

Ah true would take 1 from parry for bind wound, always forget that point hehe. Take a look at my gear would base my decision on having Anaphlaxis and Caroditcutter in both hands vs Carodicutter and festering flesh buckler from unrest. Also remember the mob is not on you at all unless you grab agro for a second. So you will not get counter damage.

Unless you can get above about 30 double attack without the buckler then buckler>dw.

Since there aren't many aoe fights this expansion, I think agi1, 2, and 3 are about worthless. I don't even see that as being more overall dps than wis1, 2, and 3.

I've read that more than 6 or 7 points in int2 is worthless if you have int5. Not sure how true it is.

The extra points into agi2 and str2 is crap. Many times we're well into diminishing returns or over cap on haste, so int3 isn't all that either.

Unless you ALWAYS run in a stacked group to get yourself over the 30 double attack without the buckler then it wouldn't be worth it. Factor in having to put up a tower shield once in awhile when you get aggro (and you will) and losing a tiny bit here, even with the 30 da it'd be a wash. Sadly, the cookie cutter is pretty much our best dps, best solo, best group, best off tank raid set, and near best MT set up. Only other choice is to go max survivability and lose 1k dps/hate imo.

Only thing that will change this, is if we get some super uber epic 1 hander @ 1 sec delay, that is OFF HAND ONLY. haha

Well thats the beauty of forums talking about worthless stuff for no other reason then entertainment.

Also I have been looking at available gear and have found if you are truely doing DPS and zero tank getting all the double attack gear you can get your hands on is nice.

Buckler reversal works when you get parried/dodged/etc as well as when you do it. So you don't have to be tanking for it to work.

With the cookie cutter build, the right pieces of gear (usually not my raid gear), and Illy ARM, I'm rolling 99% double attack. Gotta love that.

Correct, if you're not tanking it still works. You just get roughly 1/2 the damage output from it.

Well thats interesting I never really knew that. I am one of the few Illies in the guild as well now lev 78 but never get to group with myself lol. Thanks for the help guys.

I thought the OP was asking for an opinion. If he really wants to know, he doesn't need to take our word for it, he can test himself. Even if I show a ton of parses, it's not gonna matter much to him since he doesn't have the same exact gear, quality of spells, group/raid set up (that it also performing exactly the same) etc etc etc
