Im looking to roll a new toon and I was told I could get a very honest & experienced player opnion on this site so here Iam. Can someone please explain to me whats better for tanking and DPS, I had a Guardian tell me the other night thiers not many Berserkers who can out DPS him..lol. Is he lieig to me and do Berserkers do alot more DPS? Thank you in advance.

After playing both classes (I betrayed my L70 Zerk to a Guardian at the start of RoK), I'd say the biggest difference is that the guardian class has better "oh shit" survivability for himself and the group through Tower of Stone, Sentinel Sphere & Sentry Watch.

Single target DPS for both classes is relatively close, all things considered, but in multimob encounters the zerk will usually pull away.

edit to add - just saw your edit, as far as PVP goes, I have no clue.

id have to go with serker:P as im a high end well (read raid gear) equipped serker on the befallen server and ive yet to meet the guardian i cant beat hehe or for that matter most any other class=) and our end lvl 80 spell kicks some serious ass tbsh (you take half dmg from Everything for 32 seconds)
of course its all about how you play and how well you know your class...makes a huge dif no matter the class you end up playing...and overall...just dont suck! hehe

Guard should be slightly better in PvP until 80, at which point Zerker should be slightly better. Zerker's 80 AT is pretty sick in PvP.

As far as normal gameplay goes, if you have a dirge and coercer, Guard can almost keep up with zerker. Some might say it's close enough to not matter. When a Guard cannot get high dps mod & haste from buffs, Zerker will win.

of course it depends mostly on the player behind the toon. for example, mandevo in tresured gear could easily own fungie. guard has the couple extra survivability tools, but most times a zerker can dps more.

The difference between the classes is almost nill except a guard can ca snap aggro a bit better, I serve as our guild OT atm and with adrenaline I dont think there is a better class for the spot. With adrenaline when the guard goes down I can hold the mob for 30 sec with adrenaline and that will be more than enough time for the guard to be rezzed buffed and time to use his increase all fighter hate stuff. Adrenaline is the single reason I refuse to betray to guard. Now at this point I am hoping the best for the epic it better differ the classes more than they are now.

If your going to a pvp server go zerker. Zerkers are a feared pvp class while guards are nothing but a walking token pinata in a gimp mask.

I've played both on a pvp server, and prefer Berserker by far.
