And this is why you should betray. And now - not when you can get your epic, or whatever.

Guardians are, and always have been, "The Tank". I've played since launch, and can think of no time where another fighter has overtaken the Guardian in defensive superiority. While I have no problem standing toe to toe with any of the currently defeated content (haven't seen Valor yet), and have tanked everything in the game successfully and in fact not all that differently from our MT Guardian, there is still a difference. His toolset for managing spike damage and spike hate/hate recovery and the other things that generally kill tanks and wipe raids is much better than my own and so when it comes down to it he is a better pure tank, because he is a Guardian. Just because I can tank everything doesn't change that fact.

The Guardian epic does nothing but reinforce that fact which already existed way before there was a Guardian epic. It's long been my opinion that a MT berserker was silly, ever since EoF or so, and that's coming from someone who plays the class. We just don't have the tools to main tank as well as them, their epic is yet another tool in their belt that will widen the gap.

So we're relegated to supplementary/off tanks. Am I happy with this? Well, no, I guess I'm not - but I'm not really terribly butt hurt about it either. If I wanted to be the "only" tank, the "main" tank for a raiding guild then the class I would have rolled woulda been Guardian. I think our Epic helps us out in the offtank area, our main competition being with Paladins and their godly Amends agro, we get a solid DPS boost, a great AE agro generation boost (not very useful now but maybe more so on avatars), etc.

The line has been clearly drawn between the two warriors, and if you are, or aspire to be, THE main tank for your guild, you need to betray to Guardian. But it's been that way for over a year.

If you want to be "The Tank" then you should really betray to Guardian because they are the premiere "Tank" class.

The problem with these weapons is two fold:

Firstly,
The Guardian epic further widens the survivability gap between Guards and Zerks to a rather gigantic span.

The Berserker epic does hardly anything to widen the Offensive gap between Zerks and Guards. It's amazing for the few zerging add fights in the game but that's just one sub-sect of gameplay/content.

Secondly,
The guardian epic adds entire new skillsets to their gaming repertoire and gives previously unattainable bonus'.

The Zerk epic merely augments 2 skills we already had, while this certainly is a bonus to our playability, it underlines the fact that we only got "bumped" a little in terms of improvement.


Our epic should remove the aggro component from the HP regen and while that affect is clicked on our Berserker requirements for adrenaline should be removed. This offsets the increased aoe aggro from permanent OW with a survivability increase. The 5% damage absorption should also be raised to 10%.

i think all of us already knew guardian was the superior defensive tank, i mean it is in the book after all... problem i and many others have is not everyone likes to be stuck in a position permanently and like to have some diversity. if our guardians dont show up, so we just call the raid then since we have no other "tank" online? hmm, i thought i wore plate for a reason other than to kill a few miserable weak little adds here or there. do i want the defense of a guardian? no, i want to be viewed as a tank still though instead of our "defensive" abilities given to us by sony being a load of shit after we find out they are based off a short duration proc.

zerk class has gone down the shitter and even those who are betraying likely won't have a solid place in a raid as most tanking spots were already filled. zerks are stuck in their OT spot with no chance of parole, betrayal or doing anything other than dealing with the bullshit, rolling another class or just quitting the game. in fact all secondary tanks are being dumped on by this, everytime i look i see less and less of my old plate wearing friends online because now they play other classes or have quit, soon the ONLY tank class there will be is guardian, and you know what? FUCK THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm not gonna sit around and say "i'm ok with my spot and know that the best i will ever be able to do any longer is tank some heroic adds or heroic instances anymore. "my guild lets me tag along on our raids because they feel bad for my gimped ass and besides, the scouts really love your strength buff!". yep, that is pretty much what the offtanks have turned into..

by making an overpowered tanking mythical the only ones i can blame are the devs for pushing all other plate wearers to the curb. our only real desirability is in those very few occasional encounters that are pretty much few and far between.

I shall now resume watching test notes anxiously for the undoubtedly upcoming change to make Juggernaut drop off when you're no longer Berserk so that it matches Adrenaline.

I've slowly lost interest in my Berserker.. and slowly, the game in general. It just decimated my hopes for any improvement for the game in general. After all, if they could fuck us so hard on something so simple to fix, how hard are they gonna fuck up on other content.

I'm almost seeing this as a note that reads, "You aren't welcome here" in a subtle way. For the most part, I've been playing other games.. not MMOs but just other games. A few good ones come out this month like Army of Two, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 and a few others... They have until Age of Conan comes out to fix it for me and then i'll probably leave without a second thought.

I was GOING to betray. I had planned on getting my zerk to 80, then flipping him as soon as i got to 80. What stopped me? I love my zerker, and saw that while we didnt get much 'better' post RoK, we also didnt get 'worse,' just guardians got much better.

Now while i dont blame anyone for switching, especially if their zerk is their main, but since mine went from Main, to Alt (with my mystic being my raiding main) I figured I could live with whatever differences there were, since i wouldnt be relied upon as MT of VP or anything, but i think tanking most t8 stuff (below VP) seems to be feasible (not sure about the leviathan).

I havent even begun work on my epic (or any of my epics) though, cause i've been busy leveling toons and now trying to get my thuuga again (got 3 80s).

I have played a berserker for a long long time, Yeah i miss the AE dps, but i really enjoy it more now that I betrayed. I didn't jump ship like everyone else in the beginning, but if I was smart I would have. Luckily my 70 Guard on CB needs some leveling so im gonna flip him to zerk and have my Heroic tank loving back.
