I have already said that this weapon is made for avatars fights and it's awesome. Yes, it's situational, but it's best off tank weapon for avatar fights

Though, a lot of noobs just can't understand and keep bitching. They thought they can hold aoe aggro off dpsers with their new mythical epic without this weapon. /shrug

In fact, I hope SoE changes this weapon, they don't want more aggro, don't want constant OW. Fine, change this weapon to more defensive. At last, they will understand they are just a 2nd tier guardian since they don't have ToS, reinforcement, etc., and they don't even have enough aoe dps/aggro to be a useful OT in avatar fights.

Not that I will see the Mythical in the near future, but thanks for clearing up all the confusion... Here I was thinking that an epic weapon was supposed to be the best, or one of the best, weapons a class could get.

So, if thats the case, what fight(s) is the Guardain designed for? or which fights is the Warlock one deisgned for? I would like to know so we can tell the other classes when to pull out that Mythical Epic weapon and when its not-so-good.

Seems only fair since ours is good for one fight...

A mythical weapon isn't supposed to be "situational"

Guardians get LOADS of added survivability (riposte immunity 10% absorption proc, shield removal from warrior tree), LOADS of added DPS (60% DA and reversal), no relevant hate bonus

Monks get good survivability improvement (chain mitigation, +5 deflection chance), LOADS of added DPS (strikethrough, 15% DA proc)

Bruisers get LOADS of survivability (Tsunami+60% Heal, 5% deflection, 10% absorption), crappy added DPS (crappy proc), good aggro bonus (around 8k hate/minute if tanking)

Paladins get very good survivability (10% Absorption AND 10% heal), crappy added DPS, no added hate (not like they need anything else than amends)

Shadowknights get some survivability (dunno the recast on that sstoneskin if higher than 60% dmg, but it's surely better than 5% absorption), crappy added DPS (the dots increase thinghie which i doubt is that good for a hybrid class, but could be wrong), good hate gain (the hate gain on lifetaps is pretty much a joke, would probably be a 3-6k hate/minute at best, but the one on the clicky is very good if the SK is tanking)




Berserkers get sub-par survivability (5% absorption, 5% shield effectiveness), decent DPS upgrade (15% melee crit proc, not counting the DA because u should be capped regardless), crappy hate bonus (around 6k hate/minute in the best situation)

Yes maybe for avatar fights, Overking and Heroic Instances the DPS upgrade becomes very good (still 100% AE chance doesn't come remotely close to 60% DA), but as i said a Mythical weapon CAN'T BE situational, Devs clearly stated that Epics should be the end-all weapons for each class, Avatars 1handed (if any) will only take a good delay (>4s) and a good proc (>15% crit and/or with some avoidance) to litterally BEAT THE CRAP out of this weapon on 85% of the RoK raid encounters but still probably come close to the epic in the remaining 15% (avatars and overking)....if the Berserker has to MT for whatever reason, if such avatar weapon exists it will totally outclass our Epic for maintanking aswell


On a side note, SK weapon is almost as bad as ours (if not worse, depending on the recast of that clicky), and this truly shows how the guy who made these weapons either doesn't give a fuck about our classes (let me add swashbucklers and coercers here aswell), doesn't have a clue about game mechanics, simply hates our classes because he got outparsed by us on his live toon or all of the above

For whoever keeps saying our weapon is amazing, why don't u betray to berserker? Because u want to Main Tank huh? I think it's because u actually don't want your weapon nerfed, possibly because u don't want our weapon improved on a survivability edge and very likely because u don't understand that now Monks, possibly bruisers and Paladins will be better offtanks than us
