I've seen lots of threads on the good T8 gear. I'm wondering if there are some recommended pieces to try and get that will help survivability while tryin to get the epic fabled drops in SoH and such. I plan on MC'ing at 72, but is that the best there is until the T8 recommended gear or is there some good mid 70's gear that can be gotten from Heroic mobs and or quests?

i'm not sure that even the mastercrafted is better than the T7 legendary set pieces.

well... the MC gear in t8 is actually really nice until you can wear sth better.

some parts of the MC set have +1block on em. get those and then switch to instance gear whenever available (the onslaught set.. like 3 pieces of it... breast,gloves,forearms would be my suggestion).
insert into the missing slots: helm from blue reet collection, legs from maidens (anaphylaxis-dude), fabled spaulders from maidens and boots... er.. i dont remember that slot. once you got that you should be g2g to tank everything heroic including re2.. well and T1 and soh(exluding everything that cons orange) shouldnt be a problem either

I'd go for the Vehement set but its tough to find anyone willing to raid those zones these days.. If i'm lucky though I might be able to pick some up with my guild.

And thanks for those tips Mo. The group I roll with is gonna start doin Maidens soon so I'll keep my eyes peeled

***Edit = Just do the quest lines. You'll get a ton of Legendary T8 plate. Don't waste time farming EoF Legendary or Fabled. By the time you organize those groups and raids you could be level 80 and ready for T1-3 raiding in RoK and wearing better gear. And T8 MC > T7 Legendary. ***



T7 is not the best route to go. Mitigation suffers dramatically vs. 80+ mobs.

So my Harden Leaf Bracers have 556 Mit. They're lvl 70.

x = 556*70/80
x = 486.5 vs lvl 80 mob.

That item is about the best you can get from T7. Thats the equvilant of wearing a treasured item vs. a lvl 84^^^ so to speak...

For about 2p you can get crappy Legendary gear from the broker. You'll notice an increase in survivability instantly.

If you wanna min/max obsessively, get the highest level item you and find for the slot.

lvl 72 MC hands, shoulders, and helm all have the +1 to block. There is also a set of lvl 77 MC plate to look into. No Agi but, +25 CA and more Mit.

Boots of the Wastes Hunter is about the best item for feet, non-raid.
It's a reward from the final quest in the JW Clan Stormshield timeline.

one last question.

what is a good buckler to use until i can use some of the higher ones. I'm 70 right now.

oh and a good weapon to pair with it. I've got a couple weapons I picked up in labs, but their dmg spread is too low so the uber nerf my dps.

i tried DW both of them (i'm not buckler spec atm) and is was about 200dps lower than my 62MC 2H. lame on that

dual wielding is a joke, forget it, seriously, i'm getting tired of saying that.

just stick with whatever weapon you got, they're all shit until you start getting the quested in Kunzar or JW. for a buckler just pickup a festering flesh buckler out of unrest, there still isn't many that are better until you can equip the runneye buckler that is also tradable or one of the other very few ones from T8.

i found the unrest buckler hard to get these days with noone visiting unrest anymore. we had our maintank running around in T1/2 raids with the mastercrafted buckler for clerics... worked well; goes to show you: shield doesnt really matter, as long as its a buckler and has got some hitpoints on it

i do agree that dual wielding is not the best way to go. what i was trying to do in the last tier i was in was test my "tank" spec. and the dps i could get from it while DW or 2H.

I've got my aa str448 wis44882 int45882. the idea was if i was tanking i have a 1H and tower shield out and if dpsing have either DW or a 2H out. The problem i found though was that i couldnt quite switch to tower and 1H if i needed to pick up a mob. So i switched to DW so my macro would only have to equip my off hand or my shield.

I think i could get the same or better dps out of DW if i had 2 longer delay weaps. Right now the 1handers i have are both 1.6delay 88 max dmg on one and 94??max dmg on the second. (its the annealed defender and somethin else that drops in labs)

oh and thanks for the advice. i was tryin to get the unrest one, but my buddies been there 5 times and i've been there 2x and i've never seen it drop . and its difficult to get a group nowdays. I may just have to MC one
