Yep most zerkers once they get somewhat better gear dont use defensive stance as far as i know. the loss of dps/hit rate sucks compaired to the minimal loss in avoidance and mit. i think im only in the 4900 solo mit range offensive stance and havent seen any real issue, cycle your temp mit buffs and u should be fine imo since they gave them to us for a reason. I would aim for more avoidance then mit tbh. With our temp avoidance buff and shield on im at like 78% avoidance in raid with off stance and would assume thats close to most semi tso raid geared zerkers out there.
Things like the black heart of hatred reward wrist from SOH sisters is a good item for avoidance that most any guild should be able to kill nowadays and still has pretty solid stats. And depending on your stats, take agility anyway u can that doesnt sacrifice too much. Raw agility if your really low can boost avoidance nicely.

There is a difference, especially in Defensive Stance. At least I hope there is because Def Stance has an effect that increases the effectiveness of worn armor and I took that to mean in rough terms that Treasuered gets treated like Legendary, Legendary like Fabled and Fabled like something else.

um no... all it does is increase your mitigation values by 15%...

legendary/fabled label has nothing to do with it. its mitigation amount and lvl of the item.

so 600 mit on a lvl 80 piece is going to be worth more than 610 mit on a 79 piece.

it used to make a difference back in the t5-t7 days it no longer does.
just examine the mit number on the peice of gear and its level. thats all you need

if there is a hancrafted chestpeices lvl 80 with 500mit and a mythical chestpeice at lvl 80 with 500 mit it is no different as far as mitigating.

Cool thanks for all the replies everyone. I'll start looking for more survivability/dps/agro pieces now.

I'm not sure how it works with avoidance or mitigation, however with stats .. diminishing returns is the point at which stats stop having a really profound benefit to your toon.

On a mage for example, you would calculate your hard cap by:

Level X 15 + 20

So your hard cap would be 1220 on INT for example. Diminishing returns kicks in on the way to 1220, so you ideally want to be around 850 skill. Anything beyond that is more of a nice-to-have then a must-have. The gains after 850 are small at best.
