I've had my Berserker since around 2006. He's been mainly used for tanking instances, and filling in when one of our regular plate tanks wasn't available.
Lately, our raid leader asked me to switch from my Warlock to the Berserker to act as OT for our raids. (And occasionally MT when our Guard isn't around)
I've been back on him for a month, and through some help from the guild have been getting geared up. Because the toon is from 2006, my main hurdle is AA.
At this point my Defensive stats are fairly good, and I have pretty good HP. What I'm noticing is the need to increase my offensive stats.
So what has the most profound effect on Berserker DPS? I realize in the long-run it will be a combination of things, but I'm trying to figure out what stat is going to do the most for me in the short-term.
Knowing what I do, I'm thinking it will either be Melee Mod, or Double-Attack. Melee Crit seems like it'll be more of a nice-to-have then an absolute need. (As the Berserker hits aren't really super beefy, I'm not sure the crit would really add that much compared to Melee Mod).
Right now my Melee Mod is Dismal, so I've been trying to beef that up through gear. It's been a little rough as the first three pieces of TSO pattern gear don't seem to carry any.
Any input would be appreciated,
Edit: Here's a link to my profile on players. Players as usual is all fucked up and not displaying stats properly. In a decent group I sit at around 19k health, 75% avoid and 65% mit.

Also, I'm wearing the spiked pauldrons of dismay in the shoulder slot. It'll probably take players a month to update that.
