Default Re: Mythical AE dmg vs blue AEs

Put 4 training dummies together stacked and parse it with ACT. Have ACT setup to where it dings between each AA and get a feel for the timing.

Go through your rotation and see what parses highest. Hit one CA per AA and then two CAs per AA.

I have noticed that my parse is way higher when I get in 2 CAs between each AA. In addition, when hitting my Blue/Green AoEs, with a small pause for AA I tend to parse the same or higher as Bloodshower almost always crits for 6K plus.

Test it out, and see what works for you.

I don't have any real problem getting my aoe's between my auto attacks also your myth hits more then 4 mobs in front of you.

It should always be 1 CA per AA unless your haste really really sucks. Solo on a training dummy is not a good way to test this anyway since you wont have raidwide haste buffs.

Most important thing is do not delay your autoattacks at any cost.

Balk, When first getting my AA timers down, I had my 3 box set up, and had haste above the cap of 125 easily, and on procs close to 200. I will post some parse data after work.

Haste cap is 200.

The only feasible reason that using 2 CA's per auto attack would make sense would be if you haste was low enough to allow you to do so, or if you had insanely high cast/recovery speed for some reason.

Otherwise, using 2 CA's WILL delay our auto attack duel wielding let alone with shield. Being that our auto attack is by far our primary source of dps it just doesn't make sense to do so.

Furthermore, if you do use 2 CA's per auto you will end up running out of CA's quicker than normal and be sitting around with nothing to do and for that reason that method is even less effective.

Even timing 1 CA per I often end up running out on trash at one point or another.

Balk, my apology, I ran ACT yesterday again, on 4 dummies all stacked up for 1 minute exactly (enough for me to throw in Juggernaut and two rotations of most CAs). On shield and axe YOU are absolutely correct, one CA per AA as my delay was 1.3 seconds. Parsing the fights, there was a 2K DPS difference. I am at work now and don’t have exact ACT numbers, will post them tonight.

Dual wielding, with a delay of 1.7 the difference was a minimal 300 DPS difference as most of the time there was barely enough time to get in 2 hits before the AA.

I came up with my assumption dual wielding, and never thought to test it further with shield.

Again my apology.

Alll very helpful, thank you. I never intended to include Gibe in my reference to blue AEs. I won't ignore the blues, but I think I am going to remove them from the default rotation when fighting 2 or more mobs unless there are more than 4 mobs that can be hit. The green AE is only used when I need to stun anyway.

I always use 2 CA between AA unless I'm shield fighting. When I have the shield, its 1 CA.

Always using my blue AE when D/wielding too. Must have something that boost my casting speed/recovery in most of my groups because it really doesn't delay my AA.

same, when I'm duel wielding I always get 2 ca's between my auto attacks except when I'm lagging or something. Considering my blue ca's are among my highest hitting ca's I always use them in my ca rotation.

personally i only use blues when there is 3 or more mobs, i only use the green to pull mobs into range.

blues also give you more aggro control over everything in the area, the game isn't all about raw DPS and that is it, we are tanks also after all.
