Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
Hey all,
I think of myself as a fairly competent zerker and fairly knowledgeable about the class. But I am looking for suggestions on how to increase my dps. I just can't seem to figure out how to get some of the zonewides I see everyone else getting. Either that, or my brain is just to numb from beating my head against the training dummies (parsing 5-5.25k avg on those non-grouped). Right now, I have anashti as my diety, and I generally try and maintain a decent balance between tanking gear and DPS gear while raiding because you just never know when that situation might arise that i have to step up. I find that timing my auto-attacks isn't the issue, although, admittedly, i do error every now and then. I am more than likely spec'd like everyone else with 200 aa's although i did take things like shield improvement over stun resist (personal preference). And as you can see, my gear more than likely isn't the issue and adorned with every dps item i can possibly add.

So, what i am looking for is, am I just expecting to much from myself? It is frustrating thinking I should be doing more and am not. I can't give actual zonewides because we swap tanks around during the raids and sometimes i sit out for non-AE tank fights and what-not. So far, iirc, my highest parse was just over 12k on the ring-event just before Anashti. And that was on a day where the zone/spell/ca lag was extremely minimal.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/criticism.

Re: Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
most of the parses your seeing from the posts here is full dps gear, and mostly on palace trash. theres a few that i have put in there from other zones mostly from potao. Training dummys are not a good gauge for DPS. Try and get a full palace trash zw parse for us so we can see what about you are doing.
Try and equip yourself with base CA gear where ever you can, like the choker, shard sholders anashti ring ext. Also do you have a good off hand weapon to use for duel weilding? Also what is your normal group look like?
Just try and get us some info so we can see what the deal is.

Re: Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
You should defo do more damage with that gear, either you get shitty groups or then there's something wrong in your playstyle.
But yea, dual wield in offensive, try to get good buffs, and use dps gear. And time your CAs.

Re: Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
Well, we probably don't pull palace trash like most guilds do. We always have atleast 1 mob in camp, but the tanks are the ones pulling them. Alternating kills/pulls by tanks if ya know what i mean. So my parse on trash in PoAO entrance would be shit anyways. I see EQ2players is fubar'd for my profile atm. I normally have the Hammer/Constellations for off-hand, but i do have the Claw/Khalen as well. And i haven't gotten Anashti's ring (yet!!!). I do have the choker, and wear it often. But then again, it also depends on the fight too. I know i need a better bow, but we haven't seen Silverwing/Phara bow in a long time, and Zarrakon has yet to drop his for us tanks. Unfortunately, we are not able to kill avatars (they are dead before we raid) so any avatar loot is rough to get for us.
And Hardain, that's what i am wondering. If it's my playstyle that's causing me the issue. but I certainly haven't been able to figure out what's causing me to be diff than others.
Thanks again

Re: Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
Your DPS is mostly based on your buffs. Pretty damn stupid tbh. we ran into potao to start a timer with just 8 ppl, me and pally in one group and a MT group...I did 4k, so did the Templar with the buffs in his MT group. It is a sad reality. Offer BJ's and/or plat for buffs, or man up and earn them where you can. Easier for an SK to do, but whatever.

Re: Looking for suggestions on how to increase my DPS
Just wanted to say thanks to all for all the suggestion that were made. I think I solved the issues I was having. Basically, I had all of my CA's in a very bad order to begin with. Somewhat scattered around. I have a little bit more order to them know, not to mention a actual cast order. It's really made a large difference in my dps. Also, I was always getting 2 CA's between my auto's never really realizing how bad it was. It's taken some work, but now i am consistantly hitting the training dummies for 5.9k+. Went into SoH with some friends today and 1 grouped thru master P (Inquis, Swash, Ass, Illy, Dirge, Me) and was consistantly over 9k parses on the trash. Think my zoneide was 7.8k iirc with that group. But it's a start. Giving myself hope so to speak.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
