Just returning to game after about a year off and was wandering how are the zerkers these days?

I played one to about level 73 before i quit last time and wanting to come back and tank instances or maybe OT a raid here and there.

Zerkers are a lot more fun to play once you get your mythical

What class isn't more fun with a myth epic?

Anyway, I've been slowly leveling up my zerker, as I have a lvl 80 coercer as my main, 80 necro, 80 Mystic and 75 warlock (and some other lv 40's-60's) that take the bulk of my game time, getting the zerker to 79 has been a nice slow process. I'm really enjoying the class now for 2 main reasons- 1. it's my only tank and 2. most of the no-trade gear is now heirloom (i.e. can be traded within your account until it has been attuned). I have been able to win some nice gear for the zerker while playing the others that the tank can grow in to over time. He has far better gear than if he had to find a group and win it (the coercer can practically look at a group and get invited, ). Yes, he's well twinked....

As a tank class I can't really compare it since I don't play any others, but for straight enjoyment he's a blast to run around with... I should say I've almost never grouped him outside of our very small guild and solo 90% of the time. I was concerned when I heard the class was nerfed sometime before I started playing eq2 and was worried the high end of the game would fall apart for him, but have seen no such thing. I'm guessing they were really over-powered.

I've seen zerkers get passed over for groups for other tank classes (mainly SK's), but on my server it usually boils down to just getting a plate tank and have grouped with a lot of zerkers that were awesome in instances. Not sure about a zerkers role in a raid, so no help there.

Plate tank gear is insane now with TSO (most classes get crazy gear now, my only complaint is chain healer... mystic got screwed with the shard gear, IMO.

Excuse the length. I hope this was slightly helpful. GL and have fun with your bezerker!

QFE. Pretty significantly alters how the class is played more than any other fighter mythical.

Zerker mythical really extends to what the zerker is.

Zerker without mythical is not the aoe dominating fighter like many new players are lead to believe.

Its bad when zerkers are actually catagorized into this description of strongest aoe fighter when crusaders have far more blue aoe abilities.

yea, when I first created my zerker I was under the impression that they were the melee version of sk's and pali's; well thats how it was explained to me by my guild leader who at the time seemed like he knew a bit about the game having played since launch...

Zerker is just total fun.
Big time fun with a myth.

Sadly its just sony making SK and Pallys OP with extreme OP abilitys to hold agro and do tons of dps without trying, basically the easy mode class anyone could play.

gonna go ahead with my berserker; another question, where is a good place to grind out some AA at 73? Sitting at 92 just seems low with the new aa slider out now...

Currently I enjoy my zerker quite a lot - but this is after I have acquired the mythical weapon con t2 shard set and some fabled pieces. It can be quite hard to get a new tank started when there's few groups for the instances you are able to tank (RoK) and most TSO instances (where the shards you need for decent armor come from) are too hard for you. If one has another lvl 80 char to gather shards (and maybe even items) with, that makes it easier... otherwise see that you find a guild or some nice friends to help to get you started...
