T4 Armor vs. Avatar Armor

So, last night we killed our 2nd Avatar (Valor), and he dropped the Gussets/Marr and Mith Charm. Now, hindsight being 20/20, I could have easily won the gussets in bidding for them. But after I underbid for them and the guild SK won them, I got to thinking.

With the Avatar gear nerf, is the Avatar armor still better than the T4 armor (probably an easy answer)? And with being in a guild that rarely gets an opportunity to kill an avatar, what piece of gear should I really hold out for as the ultimate pieces to obtain and still maintain my 6/piece bonus from the T4 gear? Figuring I could atleast sacrifice 1 piece of armor for an avatar piece.

Going thru the EQ2Players, I have noticed alot of people seem to have reverted back to their set pieces that were formally Avatar geared. That's the reason for the question/discussion.

neutral legs plain out suck

gussets of mar are good for regen problem from dps standpoint is you lose 2 crit bonus from set so its debateable

evil helm is better than set helm

evil bp is slightly better than set bp for dps depending on the fight

good bp sucks

imo wear 6 set plus gozak helm/evil helm

I dont ever wear my good BP.

As stated above, your best bet is the evil head/bp or the gozak helm.

And I cant remember but dont you lose like 8 DA if you're wearing the Marr gauntlets vs the set ones?

Thanks for the advice all. As luck would have it, I got both the fighter charm and my Gozak helm from MMB last night. Was a good night for this zerker for sure.
