Buckler+2H thoughts

An Idea to make both of these more Feasable.

Historically there were 2 types of Bucklers... Those that were hand Held and those that could be Strapped to the forearm to Allow Mounted Archers to use them, or others to use 2-H Weapons from the ground while affording some better protection as offered by a small light shield.

Why not make the End-Line of Stamina(Ultimate Buckler line) Allow 2-H Weapon use in 1-H while the Gladiator has a Buckler equipped in addition to what it already offers. Since technically if you had the strap on type of buckler you would be able to use a 2H weapon at the same time you used the Buckler anyhow. The reduced Protection value from the Buckler (IMO) already reflects the correct amount comparatively with other shields and No hit should be taken on the Damage done by whatever 2Hander you are using. Just a thought but I think that would solve the Problem with 2H being almost worthless at this point in the game...... Especially after all the DW changes come around.

Not a bad idea I guess, but will never happen in game. They'd have to change the graphic of where the buckler is worn, and all those benefits of wearing a buckler (ie double attack, buckler reversal, and reposte) would be overpowered with a 2h equipped.

Graphic change would be the biggest issue IMO, I dont think it would make it too overpowered.... you're spending Minimum 24 AA's in a line to be able to do it..... It makes 2-H useful again. DR is what 24 higher for optimal 2h vs Optimal 1H. We would still get outparsed by the best DPS classes out there so it stays balanced.... Of course the Usual Paly and SK whining would happen whats new.

You are right it probably wouldnt ever happen, but its an idea to throw out there.

Our DPS is already high for a tank class because of STA line. Why would they let us make it even crazier by allowing 2 handers w/ buckler line?

2h with a buckler would be overpowered. I agree that 2hers need some love, but i feel that'd be better achieved through a wis AA revamp as detailed by Skel in another post.

I still think the outlined Wisdom line wouldnt be worth taking...... No dice for me. D/W with Str Agi would own for DPS(over Stam), throw on a Tower Shield put yourself in the MT group with the right set of people and you will have no agro issues and the ultimate oh shit button. I would have serious thoughts about taking Stam line again after the DW update if it made extra DPS with something like this.

yeah mine are just sugestions that would have to be tweaked acording to how the DPS played out.
