Re: so i'm really liking Honor Among Thieves
its not only good for the power return (which as some have stated, "mental breach is a fucking waste of DPS"... and they're 100% correct). the intercept is also useful. because of the damage prevent, and 50/50 split (instead of the interceptor taking most of the dmg) its actually a really viable way to save a main tank who's dropped too low for some reason. until i started swapping in some lower HP/higher DPS RoK gear a few days ago, i had the most HP worldwide of any non-fighter (10.6k unbuffed)... i might still be up there, i dunno. point is, i never feared dying from an intercept, and i would use it at will on raids, trash or named alike. =)
there are now 70 points per tree... after you fill the tenure line, enhance most of your debuffs in the other line, and get hardened/AR upgraded, what the fuck else are you going to spend points on? tenure is the ONLY endline that brigands actually cared about before this. the safehouse line is garbage, and safehouse itself is only minimally useful (we'll see how AE's on VP dragons turn out though). enhance:assault is basically useless with the gigantic AE ranges.
oh and btw, HAT is essentially useless in PvP. PvP is about a shit ton of fast, smaller hits coming in on your groups tank, not single strikes for 8-12k like named mobs put out. i've never used this once in PvP combat (now mercy on the other hand...)

Re: so i'm really liking Honor Among Thieves
and again: we are talking about the pve brigand. seems you are the only one caring about that borked pvp soe brought with dof because they thought thats how they gonna compete with WoW...
its pretty simple where you put your points. on safehouse you can at least get a bit of usefulness of stuff. faster casting of stealth: lets you cast rob (Skewer) more often, without loosing too much time on autoattack. and atm those mobs need another str debuff as they hit like trucks. baffle (elude) is usefull for memwipes, has a fast casting, and fast recovery. AR we dont have to discuss i guess. for hideaway: same like elude, you can give back the aggro faster to the tank.
as for the defending line: hardened has it uses, althought with the deminishing returns resists mean shit after 6k ish. the decrease on our aoe CA reuse is i think the only real usefull thing. the shenigans (subterfuge) upgrade.... err ye, well if you use that in raid situations you might aswell just /suicide now. snicker (vaunt): a more useless thing there is not. and the appeal for mercy thingy? sorry but with 10k+ blows 15% more mitigation doesnt mean shit for most classes.
also you dont wanna intercept a double attack froma VP wurm. you're pretty much dead then.
atm im at 136 aa (cba to grind anymore)
5 rake, 5 thrust, 5 enfeeble, 5 dispatch, 2 debuff poison, 1 tenure, 5 negotiation, 5 sneak, 5 baffle, 5 hideaway, 5 AR, 1 safehouse, 5 blade, 3 rob, 1 (3) roughen, 5 remiss, 1 enhance: BA.
my last 4 points will be put: 3 into debuff poisons and 1 into rob

read my post again. i really dont give a fuck about PVP, i happen to play on nagafen but my primary focus is on raiding... i PVP as a hobby when i'm bored. i did not bring up PVP in this thread, i was responding to someone else who brought it into the conversation.
don't get so worked up about it, sheesh. =) (and for the record... the PVP mechanics are quite healthy if you look at it from a group vs. group perspective and not a solo gankfest. this is a social game, after all. that's another topic for another thread though!)

Re: so i'm really liking Honor Among Thieves
Actually, in testing HAT, it doesn't matter what you intercede. It only intercedes 1 hit, for 50% of that damage. That's well within our capacity to handle when we can be over 10k HP in raids. Also, if you have HAT and Safehouse at one time, you aren't going to die from that 1 hit any way. In the testing I've done with it, I never died once from an intercede.
Personally, I don't have a cloak of woven leaves, because we aren't doing that zone anymore and we didn't get enough to go around. I'm also not using a mental breach EVER when I can be using actual damage poison. HAT looks a little nicer when you stare at the world at that angle. It may not be awesome or a must have, but I can see why it has it's uses to some people.

To be fair though, that cloak has 4 crit full time.
