Thuuga questline reward

Which do you prefer, the ring or the neck? I don't have the links handy at the moment but I think the main difference is that neck is +75 to all CAs and 2% crit and ring is +25 to CAs and 4% crit. Please correct me if I'm wrong there. Anyway, what will you pick? I haven't raided RoK enough yet to get a sense of what alternatives exist for rings and neck that might influence the choice. Comments appreciated.

You're completely wrong.

Neck is 50+ CA dmg and 4 melee and ranged crit
Ring is 75+ CA dmg and 2 melee crit

Both have comparable stats.

Why would you take anything but the necklace? I mean, is there some magical necklace out there with 4% Melee Crits and +50 CA that I don't know about?

Not to mention, there's already an easy to get 2% Crit and +20 CA ring to go with your sweet str-ring or your sweet 10% DA proc ring. So why would you waste time with getting a 2% Crit and +75 CA ring when the Necklace is the superior item in everyway.

I have Ganak's Torque at the neck spot so I chose the ring.

I use the torque because it has 5 melee crit. Last time I checked, melee crit is a good thing.

I chose the ring over the neck because I already had Ganak's Torque which is an amazing neckpiece. Yes the Talisman has 4 melee crit and 4 ranged crit and 50 CA dmg. Ranged crit means jack shit to me. And the ring has 25 more CA dmg. I wasn't about to just sacrifice my torque for a slightly better upgrade at one slot rather than a much larger upgrade on another slot.

umm 4 ranged crit and 50 CA dmg > 1 melee crit imo, especially with those ranged fights in VP... so untill that neck isnt nerfed:

Talisman of Thuuga > Garank's Torque

also for rings, there is better out there, like pinski said already (tnt ring, a 3 melee crit one from temple, the easy 2 melee crit 20 ca dmg one, the 35 haste ring from milyex etc etc)

this is a simple math...
Ganak's Torque+Band of Thuuga = 7% melee critical 75 CA dmg
Talisman of Thuuga+Reet Eye Ring= 6% melee critical 70 CA dmg
so i choose the ring..

well talisman of thuuga, tnt ring and the 35 haste one from vp = better tho

oh and you forgot the ranged crit which imo is pretty good now for the ranged fights which awaits you in vp
