AR was class defining until it got nerfed significantly last time. Abilities like Luck of the Dirge and other + to % have made it reliable again to the point where if I have a dirge I'm willing to ride out all AEs and can make AR proc when I need it to.

I thought this was the point of raiding and putting classes together - using one class to enhance others.

Honestly I don't understand the point of an ability that's raiding specific that raiders can't rely upon - we are all going to be back to jousting with everyone else.

I agree if they don't like the ability and feel it's unbalancing or something, just remove it and either give us another debuff, ranged attack or AE.

Heh, my ball of rage can not fit in one thread.

I don't even know where to go with this one other than even if our epic has an AR bonus that is really disappointing in itself. And if / when they upgrade VP loot which is nothing but rumors still... if it is... it had better be the 3 set bonus or I will crucify and burn alive a baby penguin while I punch it in the throat repeatedly with flame retardant gloves on to protect my soft gentle hands.

Thats it for now because I really could type a good 2 pages of this expansion and its bullshit ranger gear, how assassins are just retarded now, itemization, the suckage of our aa's, hit rates, and ease of t1-t3 raid zones (leaving vp out because though its not difficult I think overall its pretty and was done relatively well).

Anyways FUCK this change. I'd understand if we were hanging with assassins like we were last expansion, but this is not necessary.

Either the epic or the VP loot revamp had better give us a way to fucking double AR's proc rate and increase the duration, or else this nerf is completely unmerited.

AR is in no way overpowered in its current (pre-LU42 nerf) state, and even if it does somehow get to the point where its procing 60-70% of the time, that still means you're losing DPS by holding back on CA's to spam just before an AE. The consequences of relying on AR to proc and then having it not be up (or drop) as the AE hits are a lot more than the 2% the mob heals from Bolster Confidence. Lost debuffs on the mob (-Raid DPS) while the brig is being ressed and sent back in, lost DPS from the brig itself, lost chances to intercept at a critical time, etc.

edit: on further reflection, the epic had better double or triple AR's duration. anything less and there's going to be a lot of screaming. and even then, they're just giving us back most of something we lost a long time ago. is this what they're going to do for every class? use the epics to restore some facet of a previously nerfed trait?

food for thought: what if they dont add in anything to improve AR? i sense an impending forum fire ~_~

It annoys me that someone suggested earlier that there would be anything on epics or fabled gear that would make AR proc.

I think that reason for this speculation is the words that it must unless specified explicitly to impact it - they were forgetting that our AA lines explicitly mentions AR; hence the wording.

There is NO indication that there will be any upgrades to AR anywhere and we should all be assuming that there won't ever be. Take this at face value as a nerf to an ability rendering us to a jousting class again.

The skill as it is without modifications is pretty powerful. The problem is combining it with other potent skills like luck of the dirge. Luck of the dirge is fine on simple things like a proc weapon or poison buff. Those are fairly controlled anyways. Combined in certain situations though LotD and the other various proc buffs take things far above their original intentions. This is just one case of the no modification use but certain things need to remain more controlled so I would expect to see this mechanic used a bit more in the future.

If you want it more controlled, why not just turn it into a short time buff that can be casted on demand? With a set duration and recast you won't have to worry about proc modifiers, and AR can be used reliably.

Do you really expect players to believe you didn't anticipate Brigands becoming Happypals with Templars and Dirges after Nerf 1.0? Mea Culpa?

I had a Brigand main1 and Coercer main2. That's like rooting for the Knicks and Dolphins.

The implication of further Nerf 2.0's for other classes should keep the class forums hopping here.
