Brigand + bow = ?
So, my question is: should i try to get a decent bow for pve (firstly) and for pvp (not the main purpose, but still)? Best option for me right now is Rigid Scale bow, since i haven't been to VP yet (and won't likely be any time soon after gu42).
So, will having the bow make real difference for dps while jousting? Or is the benefit so marginal that i shouldn't bother with this, cause it's kinda expensive (recipe+scale) and i've got yet somewhere to spend my plat?
And for pvp, is the bow damage worth the loss of ranged knockback (which i rely on sometimes)?

If your looking for DPS, the RSB is the best option period due to arrow mechanics. Also depending on the price of the book and availability of scales, you can often make your money back with the 4 remaining charges.
I have a ranger and not a brigand, so I cant say if a bow > throwing weapon for you. However if you do go bow, may as well get the RSB unless your looking for a specific ranged proc.

Re: Brigand + bow = ?
ok for pvp some brigs say that bow are nice for dmg, but for me i will never get a bow for pvp.
1. the snars get way too much resist, so i get enough close too cast my 2 snars then if it dont work i use my range attack then try back my snars.
2. a knock back in pvp is always good tbh
3. grp pvp i dont say the bow is not good, it is actually better but i do too much solo and duo too get rid of my dagger throwing

Re: Brigand + bow = ?
the pouch of the grove is actually your best compromise for PVP purposes... you can keep the knockdown CA, it still has 35m range like a longbow, and with shurikens you can add +5 range and +10% hit rate too... and same deal as the RSB and arrow mechanics, you want the L70 ranged item right now because its broken =(

Re: Brigand + bow = ?
For pvp yes a throwing item is great for that knockback. As for pve...well I would say go with a bow. I like the range on bows and it makes a huge difference throwing out those 3-7k hits at least while you are jousting, which you otherwise would not have. If you don't expect to see Veeshans Peak soon then how about Overking? There is a decent bow from him. Although I still await my dragonhawk which once in vp anyone can kill Kluzen the Protector. It has a 7 dps mod on it which is nice for my melee.

ya i thought of getting a good bow only for raids and i might even get one for grp/raid pvp, the one of Overking is good tbh

Wrong; common misconception. A pouch with a DR of 125 will do just as much damage as a bow with a DR of 125. Half as much top end damage, but swings twice as often. In fact, because you virtually NEVER do just one autoattack round while jousting, the pouch is likely to fit more damage-over-time in during a joust due to the faster delay (slow delay & no ranged CA's to care about like a predator = nothing to do but click ranged on and wait... thus a higher chance of "missing" that last autoattack swing as you're running back in to melee).
The only problem is that T8 pouches all have a 25m range, so you have to go back to the Pouch of the Grove from T7 to get the 35m range (unless you don't care about the extra 10m).

the damage rating doesnt say shit anymore, as it doesnt consider crits, haste, dps.

Which is why if you're jousting, Bow > Satchel! Cheaper too.

Re: Brigand + bow = ?
but i would get a bow ... shoot one or 2 arrows then go back in till my CAs come back up a bit and the jousting also :P, i think that it should hit harder even if i dont have many range DA or Crit.
+ i cant get a Fable t8 pouche since they are all in T4 but i do can get a t8 bow if i bid a bit of dkp haha, would still use my t7 pouche for pvp or i would swap during 6v6 or raid fight which is not a problem
