Ya I think the prevents damage part may be broken because I honestly don't see any logical reason ( other then what I stated ) to have it there in the first place, I mean anybody can see a 50/50 split prevents half the damage.

I dunno tho it is SOE and they are beyond retarded at times, I was just saying the way it looks to me is the prevents half damage pertains to the 50% damage u get, and not to the 50/50 split.

I've never actually tested this skill tho, never even specced down it lol.

no, the "prevents" part of it does NOT reference the 50/50 split. the split is worded the same way as every other intercept in the game. there is supposed to be an ADDITIONAL 50% prevent in there somewhere, but it's ambiguously worded and likely broken.

Figuring how much damage you'll take vs. the group/raid member you put HAT on is almost pointless. I've used this line for a long time instead of the safehouse line. A ward makes this so random its nuts. I can watch the tank take a hit that seems to deal no damage while i get 40% power and lose 60% life.

What I'm saying is, it's a crap shoot. You need power ... you cast it ... the wards and reactives may cause almost no damage on the tank and you get 2 points of power. Next time you'll get pummeled and a crap ton of power. Don't rely on this with any solid numbers. I find myself only casting it when the tanks in trouble as an addition ward with a benifit.

You are aware, that you are intercede a portion of his damage and it lowers incoming damage on the tank, right? Thus allowing the wards to absorb less and stay up for a bit longer.

if this intercept goes off unmitigated incoming damage, that might explain why i see 10k+ intercedes on mobs like SW/PD... doing some quick mental math, quadrupling that would be somewhere in the range of a fully unmitigated autoattack swing from a dragon... and then 50/50 split with 50% prevention?

fuck, i dunno. i just know that it doesnt kill me, and it saves the tank. and i havent had to use power proc items for the last 9 months. whee.

Yup, thats why i find myself using it as the tank get lower health in a pinch, it helps us both .. as i said..

I didn't mean for someone to consider it a ward, just a means of preventing some damage to the tank.

I'm not sure what you all see, but using it on our tank means it works MAYBE 1 in 5 times... seems his avoidance in full raid setup is too high to be effective..

Try putting it on an MT healer right before an AOE or the OT in a pinch if he's tanking.

Also does no good when Tank has ward up on them you cant intercede a ward.

But as far as damage I always use it. 99.6% of the time I do not die from it unless it is my own stupidity and cast it before an AoE. Since alot of the AoE's in VP go thru AR <No surprise there, just another way to make it useless>. Also if u use appeal for mercy before you cast it that will up your mit. I find myself using alot of power and hate using mental breach so works good with way I play. Wiz brought up good point try puttin on someone else when AE comes. The hardest thing about using it is hoping that ward is down.

But on the you took 7k and tank took 17k. I do not see how that happened unless the tank took a double attack.
