I have always been confused myself what all the complaining is about. No, I don't avoid every single aoe. However, I am perfectly happy with the 90% of them I do avoid.

Because you probably don't kill mobs that have damage shields that break it.

90% blockage of end-game mobs is pretty much impossible. If anything, I'm usually pleasantly surprised when AR DOES prevent an aoe (excepting easy zones like t1-3).

also increase the duration to 10sec current duration is a way too small time window
mob has a proc shield let that go thru but dont let it dispel the aoe immunity
just block AoEs im really fine with a proc from a mob is going thru just an AoE should not hit us

Both changes would make it way way overpowered, as it would be up 100% of the time with that duration and the removal of breaking on damage.

If it's an either or, I'd obviously rather it be the removal of the break. A longer duration spell that breaks 1 second into it is just as worthless as a short duration that breaks 1s into it.

I might be wrong on this, but long ago before AR was changed to a proc, wasn't there a patch that made it so AR would NOT break from damage shields? I took a break from the game for a while so I'm not able to recall all of the changes... When AR was changed to a proc did it then break from dmg shields? Seems like something that might be a bug?

It specifically says it on the skill "dispels when target takes damage" or whatever. Plenty of aoe blockers do, like the bard shield. THat's why the druid one is so nice because it doesn't.

So while it may have been like that in the past (I really don't know, I've only been a brig since like Dec/Jan), it is not the case now, nor do I think it is remotely a bug atm. It may have been intentionally fixed from the "old way" if it were like that in the past, however.

It should say, Dispels when targets takes DIRECT damage. And it gets fixed so that it doesn't drop from damage shields.

Well, it already says "prevents aoe (except when direct)". Which effectively does that anyway except for us taking a few direct melee or spell hits when tanking (yeah, that happens so often on raids)... I guess that's why I say... just get rid of the dispel on damage line.

Well, I have to say that I was fucking amazed with Amazing Reflexes for the first time in a long while earlier this week. We ganked Master P and I never got hit by an AE during the entire 12min fight and I was up on him the entire time.
