some stats are on a diminishing returns curve and some are not. there is a shit load of information on these forums about such things as caps to +CA dmg (hint: it's 50% of the modified base dmg)
I bet ya there can be just as much misinformation as well. Even though the thread is talking about Spell Crits, instead of Melee Crit, I suppose the two are essentially the same for the caps.

The thread you reference also states that "Spell Critical Chance is affected by the level of your encounter. The shown number is the average chance only against an encounter of the same level as you are. Fighting lesser mobs results in a higher Critical Chance than shown, and fighting tougher mobs results in a lower Critical Chance than shown." This is exactly what Ifif was saying. However, the author does admit that "I apologize for not listing all my methodology/numbers for anyone curious, but they're scrawled on random notebooks as I was catching miniature parses filled with /act end's." I do enjoy reading what others provide in terms of methodologies and numbers creating the conclusions but, I suppose for now, we can't always get what we want.

Very awesome thread still tho. Thank ya very much for sharing the reference; definitely a thread to be bookmarked.
