Default Help me out you matured Brigands!

Hello fellow Brigands, Boedy here the newb Brigand. First let me start by saying I'm new to EQ2 after almost 4 years of FFXI and 1 1/2 of WoW, loving the game so far.(I jus wish I picked it up earlier, WoW = the suck compared to this) I played a few classes to lv 15, namely conjuror and zerker, and this by far is my favorite so far. I have a few Q's. I tried looking around for some of the answers and didnt find them, so here I am posting, cause I like to play my games to the best of my ability, and that starts with research.

1. What would you guys recommend for a starter profession?? Funds aren't deep obviously being new. I posted this question elsewhere and I received one answer, Jewelcrafting. I'd def like some more opinions.

2. Rogue AA's. Should I dwelve into Agil first to pick up WtP? I went to Str first, I think I see my first respec coming >.>

EDIT: I'm a lv 15 Zarnak if that matters. EQ2map, check. TD timeline, check. Anything else >.>

3. I started in TD, Zarnak(yea yea I know, rats own, im a noob for not rolling one ) Any tips for this zone?

4. Anything else you guys can reccomend to make me the best Brig I can be!!

Thank you, all flames welcomed (I'm sure I'll get some, w/e it takes to become good at my class I'll take

Read this..
http://www.eq2flames.com/brigands/22...e-posting.html It's the cool thing sticked at the top of the forum.

Answering your questions

1) Doesn't matter

2) Read Link

3) Do quests and don't die.

4) Learn to read.

1. I read that thoroughly. It's for the "advanced" Brigand, I'm a newb yet.

2. That's his raid list, I'm looking for starter stuff here. Like go into agil or str first.

3. Figures.

4. Either I need to learn to read, or you need to learn to read, or I need to learn to ask better, or you're just a dick, or this is not noob questions friendly, perhaps for the "endgame" brigand, or all of the above. I'm gonna have fun in this forum for sure /rubshands.

indeed.

1. alchemist. Poisons and potions get expensive, and you'll go through a lot.

People suggest Jeweler so you can make your adept III combat arts (and a couple pieces of jewelry) - and upgrading is pretty big in survivablity and fighting. They do get pricey.

But, consider you'll do X number combat art upgrades per tier, vs. using X number potions per day. I go through stacks of crit potions like candy in T8, and I swap out poisons a lot & use self cures constantly. It is an ongoing expense you'll never get away from as a Brig.

Secondary profession - tinkerer. Transmuter is the "I spent my digital life savings, but now I'm rich!" profession (at least on butcherblock), but tinkerer has some pretty good widgets that'll come in handy for a brig... like, a Feign Death clicky. :P Also, portable crafting tables ...so you can stop and restock potions/poisons anywhere. Handy.

Either way, harvest every single rock you see starting now and hoard the loams - if you don't go tinkerer and use them, they still sell well.

2. Yes, agility for WtP first. That's a soloer's bread & butter. Teach yourself how to spin the mob and stun it so it stays facing away from you.

Also, it's Sarnak. No Z!

3. What the poster ahead of me said. The quests in TD give much better gear/goodies than starter quests elsewhere.

4. read lots.

Speaking bluntly, flames is not particularly newbie friendly & yes, this forum is for the end game brigand. Most of the board here is designed towards end game players/content.

Previously you'd get pointed to a link, told to read, and have your thread deleted in short order.

Secondly, you invited flames & already you're defensive when someone is just short with you. lol

YW and yeah, if you really want to play well, it'll take a lot of research. Google is your friend. But kudos for you for wanting to play well and not just mash buttons.

I've been writing up FAQs for the guild lately and it has sucked up hours of digging through forums and websites and picking friend's brains to get accurate math. This is after playing the game for 3 years and maxing out several toons - some people have a knack for the technical side of the game. Some of us have to work harder at it.

1. Dont start crafting for any other reason but you actually liking crafting. If you dont enjoy it, you are infinitely better off never setting foot in a tradeskill instance. If you sometimes need something crafted, just buy it off broker or have a crafter do it for you for the regular fee - you will be able to afford because you've spent your time getting rich off mobs, instead off crafting.

2. WtP is not very sexy at all for brigands, we get plenty abilities that lets us unload our backstabs while soloing (at least from lvl 30 and forward). Wisdom line is actually very nice when soloing (which you probably will be doing most of the time), but you need at least 20 points or so before you wanna start using it. Until then... maybe WtP yeah, doesnt really matter.

You mention "TD timeline", so I guess you are familiar with eq2.wikia.com. Also download ACT (Advanced Combat Tracker), for parsing. Study your own parses.

3. TD is a straight-forward zone, just do all the quests and you are level 20 with maybe 15 AA. After that quest in Butcheblock, while trying to catch groups to Stormhold, Fallen Gate, Crushbone Keep and later Ruins of Varsoon. At 30 quest in Enchanted Lands and Zek. And so on.

4. If you have a hard time making money, always buy level-appropriate treasured weapons, handcrafted chain armor and the most important adept 1's. Always ALWAYS use highest level mastercrafted caustic poison.

If you can afford more, buy the best weapons you can find every 4-5 levels. Mastercrafted leather armor with lots of STR. Pick up cheap Master 1's, should be no more than 25 gold a pop.

And the best tip for becoming a good brigand is... push those damn buttons! Spam it like you mean it!
