Thanks for such a great list. It helps knowing what to look for when it drops.

With apologies in advance, not sure how to format, but...

I'm curious, is there a reason why

traitorous hood of derision

with it's +2 melee crit isn't listed under the helms? It's not +4 but +2 isn't TOO shabby!

It's tradeable, too, for those not in super duper raiding guilds.

I was wondering why the Linked Band of the Dragon Lords wasn't on the list of bracelets.

Because to make it worth using would require a very limited set of buffs and gear. If you feel it benefits you more than any other piece of gear available to that slot.. by all means use it.

Very nice item now.

What about Ring of Rancor (\aITEM -1365173422 -462955226:Ring of Rancor\/a)? Is it really so bad that it doesnt merit a spot above mastercrafted? I saved it from rot the other day, replacing one of my +2 mc quested rings with it. I have always been a fashion>function guy so I dont mind but it still seems to be a fairly nice piece.

Note the Wiki site shows the ring as having +5 mc that it doesnt have.

1% every 21 seconds doesn't sound like a whole lot.

Maybe looking at question another way. What merits master crafted to be ranked so high? It procs for 27 str and 31 dps? I would have thought even Reet Eye Ring was better? Is it just the easy availability of the ring that ranks it so high or am I just missing something?

The mastercrafted can be good to toss on depending on your group placement.

For instance, you get tossed in the mage group with Troub/Illus buffs, but no DPS mods, the DPS proc on the MC ring will be rather powerful for you, since your solo DPS mod is pretty low.

This statement is correct. You must keep in mind the diminishing returns curve for DPS and Haste modifiers.

I run with about 24 - 30 dps mod solo (I'm at work so I can't quote the actual number). If you add in the 31 from the MC ring, your damage will increase substantially due to 55ish - 61ish actually equaling 70 - 90 dps modification.

The Diminishing returns curve works in our favor when we are stuck in the all haste or all dps groups.

LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Unlucky Horseshoe

Any thoughts on the Unlucky Horseshoe and if it's worthy to be up on that list?
