ask it then in tells.
tbh, i'm much happier if i get the jcap as i want (like just before i'd launch dispatched, rake, enfeeeblement, master strike and du, so the greater dds, and thugs, and the temporaly self-haste and dps buffs) than random as they already went out and i'm waiting on refresh.

Aye, nothing's worse than seeing the jcap macro tell from the troub 15 seconds into the fight when you've just used your dispatch/rake/enfeeble. I think troubs are just used to people asking for jcap for greedy reasons (increase personal dps) rather than for the reasons that brigands ask for it. They figure that any jcap is a good jcap. /sigh

I've taken the time to explain this to the troubs in my guild though, and they're pretty good about it. There should just be a plaintext tooltip on the Jcap spell saying "Cast this on your brigand 3 seconds before mob inc". Troubs that listen in vent for the "incoming in 5..." call and watch the main tank make his move to pull and automatically jcap me based on that mark make me happy in the pants. =)

I do have alacrity and jcap private tell request macros setup though. Because I want it at specific points in the fight (as dispatch refreshes) rather than anytime my immunity is down (like a sorcerer would), I find that it's helpful to be proactive. I talked to all the shaman/troubs ahead of time and let them know what I expect, and that I'll likely be spamming the /tell macro 2x so it shows up easier in their chat/raid spam. They seem to be understanding of this.

Bottom line: communicate with your troubs and shaman and let them know WHY you need these abilities at certain times. Just be prepared to have a bunch of butthurt sorcerers and predators (and summoners and chanters and everyone else who thinks their spot on the parse is more important than the raid's DPS...) give you shit if you try to discuss this publicly in ventrilo. You may be correct in your logic and methods of trying to increase raid DPS, but that won't stop them from crying about it. =p

There is nothing sadder than a butthurt ranger.

Speaking of troubs, I have not seen ours in over a week. =/

Hah, so true. Someone should make a Despair, Inc. style pic with that as the slogan below the focus word. Get one of your guild rangers to do a /sigh animation in game and use that as the pic. Paste a Jcap icon with a red "X" through it over his head in a thought bubble.

Jesus... I just pictured that in its complete form and made myself lol a little bit here at work. I might get around to doing this tonight

A tell to the troub gets me Jcap whenever I ask, very nice IMO. and helps on named pulls and whenever my temp buffs are down.

Awesome suggestion!

BTW, been parsing 2nd top in guild just behind the MT assassin... zonewide due to this, its hawt.. Now to find more healers... anyone know of 2 raid level Templars that wanna raid?

Not sure how some folks get away with being so demanding with jcap. The DPS-ego can get out of hand. That is why I agree entirely with communication with our good troub and shaman friends so their buffs are not wasted on those simply seeking DPS-gain. Overall raid DPS and effectiveness should be a GIVEN for any serious raiding guild. Not saying ignore the sorcerors/summoners with jcap, not at all. Priority should be given to debuffs though, in most if not all cases.

Luckily, most troubs worth their salt understand this and will comply! :D

Must teach troubs to auto cast Jcap on a fight via a priority list.

I believe this is possible due to the new system. Its gonna be fun explaining this. ;)
