Default Maxing DA Crit etc etc /yawn

I understand to some extent the mechanics of Eq2 currently follow a curve when approaching highest levels of Skills DA Crit etc.

Currently what kind of amounts of Crit and DA would you have to achieve to be hitting near 100% REAL on these ?

Also for example Slashing skill - ive been told that any number over 520 is pointless. I sit at 527 with swindlers luck. Is that a correct assumption?

CA Mod, Again people say aim for approximately 500 this will cap or come closeish to most of the lower ones like spew, sidestab, quick thrust etc etc.

I understand it is a trade off to balance all these and each person depending on access to gear will have to do their best.

If anyone could shed some light to me or link me to a definitive set of answers, especially regarding Crit DA and Skill mods that would be much appreciated.

The Cap of DA is 100%.
The Cap of MC depends on the mob's level.

If you are level 80 and attack a level 80 mob, and to crit 100% of the time, you will need 100% MC.
If you are level 80 and attack a level 88 mob, and to crit 100% of the time, you will need about 112-115% MC (I think), but a number in that range.

Melee Skill Cap is: 6.5 * Level

If you/the mob is level 80, the cap is 520. Against a level 88 it's 572.

Acually Spew doesnt cap early at all, the caps are determined with the whole DoT added up. But yeah the return from +CA takes a plunge after Jagged Blade and Sidestab are capped.

Normally, fully buffed with an illy (i get IA) / dirge(or troub) i'm sitting at 97 DA and close to 92ish crit..

chances me getting an Illy and a bard... meh, not often.

When i do, I'm usually 2nd on the parse.

Just to add, even at 200% Crit, you don't have a guaranteed chance at a Critical Hit but it's close to 100%.

Ok cool ty.

Next question for all you True ACT addicts.

What kind of added hit/miss rate would a Brig get going from 520 slash skill to the "cap" 570ish. (i use Mythical and SOH axe currently) Lets use VP as an example - we don't get a sniff on avatars yet

Are we talking a huge 5% less missing or some kind of diminishing return BS like 0.94% less.

basically am I being hideously screwed with no +skill mods in the caster group -

Statistics and maths is not my strong point

From my own experience...I get a whole (/sarcasm on) 1-1.5% hit rate difference from beeing in the mage group (/sarcasm off) so no you're not getting screwed...at least not on the hit rate part... Of course getting illusionsit insted of illu + dirge does make a difference for sure.

I usually compare my troub's hitrates vs preds and rogues on raids and there is no notable difference. And thats my troub with no melee skills buff, and no offensive stance of course.

(This is versus orange mobs in deep VP)

What exactly affects weapon damage (aside from str)? I always forget to ask the buffing folks. For instance, if I only have a troub due to slackasses not showing up for raid, my weapon dmg will be something like:

1700 pri (mythical)
1500 sec (stilletto)

And if I have my regular dirge + inquis scout group, dmg is more like:

2400 pri
1900 sec

I can't seem to figure out which buff is upping the autoattack dmg so much.

The Inquis offers a single target +DPS and +Health buff (I forget what its called), and also the dirge has a +DPS song and a +Str song.

So, DPS mod is what's effecting your auto attack damage.

With just a troub in your group, you probably aren't getting very much DPS mods at all.
