It's true brigands shouldn't ignore spell crit...but let's face it, there's incredibly little items with spell crit that we can use...and most of those don't have any melee crit or DA. Items with both are usualy crusaders and bards only. I'd trade 1mc for 4sc...maybe even 3 but no less.

I wouldn't waste your time with spell crit. Leave it for the mages, bards, pally, whatever. Just don't worry about it. Tell that R-tard who wanted the spell crit to reroll.

I love the title of this thread 'importants'

See what's happened to the educational system in this country now that Obama has been elected!?? /sigh

Anyway, Burglar (and others) - there are some very very obvious ways to build your spell crit - and to ignore it is basically retarded.

Most obvious example I can think of are the spell crit adorn you can put on your gloves instead of the retarded +16 agi one.

I also wonder, Burglar - why you chose the brig/swash void shard armor for your gloves and shoulder? You chose the 'obvious' one and got +8 to your base CA dmg on your shoulders (or will when you upgrade it).

The Soul Lancers shoulders give +8 base dmg increase to CA AND Spell dmg - a far better choice for the 15%+ dmg you'll get from spell dmg on your overall parse.

Because brigands have like 5 spells total. The 2 snares, taunt, roughen line, and thugs. Spell base dmg does not change proc dmg which is where all the dmg was coming from. Pretty sure about that at least. And 3MC + 1 DA is better than 5dps.

No question the MC and DA is offset somewhat by the +25 difference in CA and Spell dmg bonuses - I almost never find myself without 100 DA and rarely under 100 MC so the extra MC and DA there don't benefit me in any great way.

Ofifi, what value would you put on the 3 piece bonus that Soul Lancer offers vs. the 3 piece bonus of the Dauntless (dmg/heal proc)

I'm still not clear how much raid fabled set, how much void set, how much misc. armor I'm going to end up wearing - I like the proc on Dark Mithril Boots but limited slots and lots of bonuses to consider.

I'm not at all sure that base dmg wouldn't affect procs, poison dmg, etc. - anything spell based seems covered by 'spell damage' but I have to admit I don't know the answer for certain and with Sony, bleh speculation sucks....

Wrong. It do increase base damage.

Also (not that it matters much), Empowered Essence increases base damage on Achievement Abilitys, while Empowered Arts doesn't.

Are you saying +base dmg includes procs?? If so that is news to me.

As regards to Wiz, the 3 piece bonus on the T2 set seems to do about 120dps for me and about 80hps. It's not terrible considering I wear the Sleeves(duh) the Chest which is better than Jarsath Gi for me since I don't quite cap DA with the procs, and the gloves have 38 haste so I can use something that is better than dark ring of intent.

Yes, Spell Base Damage increases the damage on your procs (Poison, SoP, etc).

Yeah you are 100% correct about it increasing proc dmg. When i toss the blood thirsty choker on all my procs increase. Good to know.
