Re: Some Brig assistance
i was a bit concerned about my dps as well.. im more of a "legendary" equipped player, so most of the shard armor was actually upgrades for me. my ca's are adept 3 and i tried to focus on +slash and pierce to increase my hit rates (which were terrible in the tso zones.. 75ish%). i was going to go with 3 of the first set and 3 of the advanced set to get both of the lifetap procs. i also want to get the 3 pieces of infused shard jewelry to get the 1000 dmg proc. i dropped my trooperscale boots for the shard ones because i figured that +3da all the time and +45 ca dmg would be better over all. im at a crossroads on the runed laviathan carapace, but i may drop that for the greater shard piece. i also have my own sequence for double up taht seems to wrok ok for me. i hit enfeeblement, dispatched, clock, master strike, double up. the reason i do them in that order is because back in the day, double up would reapply debuffs with an increased effect. it also adds a second or two that dispatched will be on the mob, not to mention that the mob will be fully debuffed for the big burst... the increased debuff effect may have changed, but its sort of a habbit for me now. after that i cycle through my ca's starting with blood rake, without queing them. what i figuered is that the small gap in between each ca allows an opening for melee attack. if my short term buffs are up, ill cast those while the tank pulls. i do enough dmg to keep people with their mythicals honest. i need to fill out my shard armor, and finish this sig quest so i can get an offhand weapon. i wish i could comment on how much dps i do on a training dummy, but my 6 man guild is only lvl 29 atm.

Re: Some Brig assistance
+slashing/piercing is the last of your worries.. Stat focus constantly changes based on grp make up and your own gear. As I grew up in rok i focused on crit until i got to about 70% then da. After that I personally went after ca mod. Most dont seem to see it as very important but it does make a big difference. Like others said swapping out for the dps/haste rings is a good idea as ur gearing up.
In all honesty in grps I use the crappy poison or just turn them off. I dont wear choker use temp adorns or tactic pots in grps either.
I personally prefer longer fights because thats where you shine. Anyone can burst dps spam as fast as they can and use temp buffs. The longer the fight the more benefit you will see from having higher dps/haste. So where as short fights the haste/dps rings you wont see as big of an improvement in dps from wearing them as you will in long fights.
What you should be more worried about is your % of your raids dps. Not what your actual dps is. Thats going to give you a better stand point of where you dps should be. Thats assuming that your just as geared as your guild. If your 10% of your raids dps your doing fine.

So if his guild happens to run a lot with lots of healers he's automatically doing fine? If a guild has fantastic healers and runs with 5 then he sucks because he's not doing 10% of the raid dps? What if his guild has 2 assassins, 2 rangers, 2 wizards - does he still need 10%?
Any other stupid measurements you can think of Amorie?

Or you could be a dumbass. % is a more reliable measurement. dps goes up and down depending on the fight. No matter if I parse 8k or 12k I still do the same % of my raids dps. So to say I do the same % every fight means im meeting my expectations. Doest matter what his raid setup is % dont lie.
Is his % gonna be lower if they run heavy on dps, yeah but if they have the same raid set up (or close) everynight and everyones doing what theyre suppose to be doing then hes gonna pull the same % everynight.

That's true, so why did you tell him 10% was his magic # when there are so many variables that this is ridiculous? You know, given you just agreed with me here. Any more rules of thumb you can pull out of your ass and then discount?

Re: Some Brig assistance
I didnt discount anything and I never said it was a rule of thumb. He said he was doing 10% which there is nothing wrong with 10% regardless of his raid setup.
I said " If your 10% of your raids dps your doing fine." meaning that if hes doing what he claims hes doing then hes not bad off.

Rofl. This is the same guy that criticizes people's training dummy parses. He's looking for reasons to troll.

Really, it's the most pointless argument ever going on. Percentages? Really? We need something to keep people busy.
