Help, my parses suck!
I'm a necro main first of all, with all masters, raid gear and whatnot so I'm not a newb, but my 1 other 80 toon is a brig and I can't dps with him for shit. I have only 114 AA's, but I do all spells at adept 3 and underground negotiations and stunning blow at master 1. I have good RoK gear (trooper scale boots, blackened iron gloves, the chest, legs and bracers out of chelsith, and 2 weapons with 84 and 87 DR, 4 sec delay).
I have ACT and have it set up to beep for auto attack but I'm fairly certain my auto attack timing is the problem and I don't seem to be able to time it right despite this. I see people posting 10K parses on the training dummy and I'm sure they have better gear than I do, but so far I can't hardly break 2K on the dummy, so there has to be some skill involved to accout for gaps that big, Any suggestions?

Re: Help, my parses suck!
Why you gotta copy me? Necro main to brig main....Same stuff as you on my necro, decent gear, missing 4 t8 masters....switch to brig and all a3'd, mc gear (but he's 78), and 2 mc longswords at 5 sec delay. I went with those cuz they look cooler than the little 4 sec ones, but anyways...
Positioning for me mostly, ca order as well is what Im learning what works for me. debuff first with the physical mit one then dispatched.....usually its dead before dispatched wears off....
But again, ive only been in t8 as a brig for a week or less, so meh...however, the stickys helped alot with my understanding of the class and other details I wouldnt have thought of before as a brig =)

Do former necro, now jerking off on Brigands bother to read? Just wondering because this same question was asked and answered not long ago.
If you're too fucking lazy to even look I'd suggest you go back to necro and not worry about it.

Ask any brig, the trick to good dps is basically:
booze and button mashing. Falling asleep with your face on the keyboard works too, provided you toss and turn a lot and entertain the raid with random vent binds.

Re: Help, my parses suck!
I don’t normally tell people what they need to do but since you asked.
First I think you will only get your parses out of the gutter if you put some real effort into collecting gear. I know many people don’t have the time, groups, or guild to get some of the top pieces but there is a lot you can do anyway. At the end of the day you get what you put into it.
I looked at your toon’s specs on EQ2 players, so I am basing my comments on what that shows you are wearing. Seems you are trying some kind of tank or defense approach? Is that stuff what you wear when you are trying to DPS? Band of Dragonslayer, Blacked Iron Headdress? If so that is one of your major hurdles.
- Rings: The mastercrafted band of STR is a very good ring, that is only replace with some good raid drops, and I know some that still use it at times. Depending on my buffs I might throw it on. Both rings you have on don’t buy you much DPS, so look for something with a proc, or Melee Crit.
- Charms: There are some better charms available you missed a good one that was very easy to get from Frostfell. Get rid of the scale, and use it only for water breathing. There is a better one that is like from a lvl 30’ish quest in EF.
- Jewelry: If it doesn’t have Melee Crit, Double Attack or offensive proc you don’t want it.
- Helm: They Blacked Iron Headdress isn’t helping you, get the TSO shard helm or the Coif of the Reet knight.
- Shoulders: Other than the +40 to melee they don’t offer you much, the TSO T2 is very good. Better IMO than most ROK raid zone stuff.
- Belt: You should get the Baldric of the Di'Zok Warlord from the chokidai collars collection.
- STR: You really need to get your strength higer, 800+ at least.
- Weapons: Sorry bro your weapons aren’t gonna help you parse like you want. Take the time to get your epic. It is the best investment you’ll make.
- AA: Your AA’s are spec for FD which is good for solo questing and leveling, but not gaining you any DPS.
- DPS vs Defense: IMO you don’t take away dps to increase defense, brigs stun, stifle, turn, and burn down mobs with dps, we don’t go blow for blow. We turn burn, stun and try to kill the mob before it wakes out of it’s daze and turns to attack us.
Do what you can, shards are pretty easy to come buy, and you can even mentor ppl at lvl 60 and do some instances.

Re: Help, my parses suck!
Ok so my main question, having just betrayed to brigand, is about timing.
I always thought brigands were better off not timing, is this false? or is it just a matter of how much haste/DPS/double attack you have?
I mean the basic concept for deciding whether its worthwhile to time CAs is:
will i lose more damage by delaying my autoattack by .X seconds, or by delaying my CA by .X seconds. right?
Now obviously when you're using double up, you damn well better be spamming the 2 or 3 CAs beforehand.
But in other situations, that tradeoff is highly dependent on your gear and your buffs.
In a raid, with about 100 haste and 100 dps (arbitrary numbers) and all ad3 CAs, should i be timing my CAs?

Re: Help, my parses suck!
Get better gear, and if the ACT timer isn't helping you time your CA's what do you expect ppl here to do. Thats what the timer is for man, experement do one CA and wait for the noise then do 2 etc etc just like the rest of us you have been handed a tool box now go build something don't have someone build it for you.
