Re: staying alive?
First thing is, if most your armor is t2, you're still highly missing upgrades to fight tso mobs other than the first 2 of tomc and and the first from palace. Tho you can make up for it, having a few VP or end soh gears more than highly help you survive.
As a brigand, you should have almost no reason to ever die from aes if you're not under equiped compared to what your guild does.
For early tso (except what I mentioned before) as a brig you should have at least 9.5k hp self buffed and be able to build any 2-3 resist to 10k self buffed as a strickt minimum. If you do that, the only AEs that will ever kill you are the ones that are supposed to be jousted anyway(and even then you may survive some).
For anything past the first 2 of palace, first 3 of tomc and first 2 of stronghold you'll need to upgrade from what I said. (crit mit, more hp, etc)
Edit: 2 more things I just thought of as you said you don't have much experience in raid.
1) There quite a few aes which you're (most likely) supposed to cure yourself...make sure you know which ones and always have enough potions...
2) the information about items that HAVE to be lvl 80 gears for resist to be worth it is wrong. Items start loosing effects after 14 lvls. So as there's no mob over lvl 88, you can wear lvl 75 gears if you don't have better. (as you seam to be gearing up I thought it was worth mentioning)
