Default Your thoughts on the Ward of Elements shoulders

Anyone have any thoughts on the shoulders from the Wards of Elements? Would you guys be replacing the ones that give both spell and combat art damage for them, or will you be waiting for the ones from the TSO set for the 5set+ bonus?

Default Re: Your thoughts on the Ward of Elements shoulders

I recently disco'd em on my server Splitpaw.

I'm wearing them currently to try them out.

Compared to wilderness warrior's ive gained +2DA (which is fairly pointless as i way above 110% if not more on raids anyway)

lost 15CA damage but gained a 1% on base.. so overall ive gained on enfeeblement as an example a massive 6 extra high end ca damage!
(2661-3985 wilderness) > (2658-3991 WoE) and lost 3 low end !! oh noes! How

that's with a 495ca mod. (your experience may differ )

Gained 4 crit mit and 35hp (yay!)
92 real mit (yay! who cares)

now OFC i have lost the 8% base spell damage- not entirely sure what that effected - i think it was TS damage. Torp strike, walk the plank?? ( please if someone could list those would be great)

basing this on WTP damage loss, overall i would say these are shit unless u need the crit mit - which is unlikely - you will lose significantly more dps than u gain from 1CA% than the missing 8% spell damage on walk the plank alone.

Please tell me i am wrong and correct me about WTP and 8% base spell

On the plus side u get 1337 shoulder pads/wings and look pretty gay.

If i am grossly wrong about WTP and spell damage, they would be a very slight upgrade until the real set shoulders if you get lucky enough for the Fuckers to ever drop...

You're joking, right?

8% Base spell damage = 8% increased damage on basically every proc on every piece of gear you have, as well as group buffs (since, save for an extremely rare few, they are all considered spells).
This includes your poison damage as well.

So the t3 brig shoulders are piles of shit in comparison to t2 hybrid armor which has +base CA and spell damage.

So would the wilderness shoulders be better than the TSO class ones in the sense that the spell/ca base effects everything and the ca base just effects cas obviously? Or would you say the 5 set bonus would make up for that?
