Default Brigand

I'd like to open a discussion with other true Brigands on how you guys currently like the direction of our class, and specifically EOF AA's as well.

First off, I'll start with the EOF AA thing in my own thoughts:

1. Tenure- decent, wish it would have stayed to a higher percentage like it originally was on Beta, one of the better end abilities

2. Safehouse- meh lol..can you say garbage?

3. Malicious Assault Enchance- OK, this would be decent if it worked..can we ever get someone to fix this? Last time I checked this is still fucked

4. Honor Among Theives- Alright..good intentions I suppose, love the power, but still..come on

Minus Tenure our end EOF AA's suck. We get nothing that is sexy like most of the other classes..and in fact..at this point, minus Tenure, its almost a crap shot of which shitty end AA should I pick

Also:

1. Our personal AA's do nothing to add to personal dps..which is fine, we are a debuffing class, but I would have liked atleast 1 line that could have added some more dps..the poison upgrade AA's we have suck

2. Devitilize/Rake upgrades via AA..meh..not bad, kinda usless though when you have 2-3 Brigands on the raid because a mob can only be debuffed so far

3. Amazing Reflexes- gag. Unreliable. Does not last long enough..I could go on about this but I'm honestly done being butthurt about it.

Touching on the direction of the class I do think Brigand is going in the right direction. I understand the primary focus on this class is to debuff the mob to shit so people can punch it in the face. Brigands do a good job of this. If I had any complaints it would be we have: real weak ae dps, not enough personal dps buffs, amazing reflexes wtb I miss it cry.

Any thoughts from the rest of you Brigands on any of this?

Personally i like the amazing reflex AA. Sure it doesnt last long but with the increase in % i can almost get it to chain proc which mean no more jousting

And yes id like a DPS AA line but we do good DPS as is given a group worth half a shit.

Compared to other scouts aa's ie assassins I think we have it pretty good.

Tenure line is very solid, safehouse is for pvp mostly, I wouldnt put the points towards honor among thieves just to get that ability, and yeah malicious is broken so yippee...

But anyway, I personally am overall pleased with our aa's, seems they covered all the player types while helping our debuffs. Its just too bad an end line ability is STILL broke but hey we are getting a DFC REVAMP! boo-fucking-ya!

I think we are right where we need to be in terms of dps, where as swashies dps could use a little toning down. I wouldn't change too much about us so from that standpoint, I think we are headed in the right direction.

Amazing reflexes... heh. The sorest subject in the history of our short lives. I personally think they had to change because 1) it was an easy button and 2) because of the way they designed almost every single raid mob in this expansion. If we had AR in its old state we would have no excuse but to zonewide 2000+ in every zone. Our dps would be through the roof from a zw perspective.

So in summary from someone who has played and raided all content this game has to offer as a brig since day 1, we suck, roll an assassin preferably an erudite.

I'm fine with our AAs, too.
Sure Assault is still broken but hey, it's not like this was the only broken thing in the game.
When it should get fixed someday, we really got good AAs imho.

Concerning our personal dps enhancements:
Well, i do think the brigand should be a debuffing class 1st and dps 2nd.
Would make predators kinda superflous, if it would be any different.

Then again we have Enhance:Negotiations. Sure it doesn't do much but it at least helps a bit with our weak point, which is AE-DPS.

Concerning AR:
Looking at the Raids EOF has to offer, i think AR in its old form would be overpowering.

I'm fine with the current state of AR and i also like the Enhance:AR AA.
Given some thougt concerning your equip and strategie, some situational "last resort" jousting and a healer worth his money you can stay on a mob the majority of time and avoid a good deal of aes, too.
And it brings some additional, though minor, aspect of skill into playing the class by having to deal with the randomness of AR.

I agree that AR in the form it was before EOF would have been way overpowered in EoF. It still procs pretty decently, and with a dirge and AA's in it, it is even better.

As Pantz said, I think the disparity between Swashies and Brigs dps wise should focus on bringing swashies down a little, not us up...but I disagree with rolling an assassin, roll a Paladin (Erudite still of course) and find the true power!

1) I like the AA. I thought it would increases the duration of Hemotoxin, and our dot CA's, and it does. However it also increases the tick time by 15%. Making it just take more time to do the same damage, which sucks. Still a nice AA, but fix the dot tick times.

2) Haven't played with it yet. Seemed like it'd be fun, but no practical use outside of pvp.

3) Haven't played with it yet. Would be pretty nice if it worked.

4) Played with it, thought it'd be fun and a great way to return power. However in all the intercede's i did. I never saw any power gain. Is this skill even working?

I'm curious why you all think Swashy should have their dps lowered (besides being slightly bias), don't you think dispatch bridges the difference?

Doesnt Dispatch benefit everyone? Meh, I was a ranger from day 1 until my guild stopped raiding at EoF release. Not a lot of demand for rangers at that time I had a brigand alt so I leveled him the rest of the way to 70, and didnt start raiding with him until after the AR nerf.

While I can parse relatively high at times, I am usually looking up at the swashes, assasins, rangers, and wizards (sometimes the summoners).

Now continue the good discussion on Brigand AAs, I am working on my last few now and have not picked a second track for the EOF ones yet!

That's like saying Bards benefit everyone therefore they should parse 1,900, if the game was solely about personal dps then you could combine everyone who's not a tank or healer into one class. But regardless, I'd have no problem with Swashys and Brigands parsing the same IF Swashbucklers received a "Dispatch"-comparable ability.

I personally think class balance is dead on right now with the exception being Necros who I think are a bit high.

really now?

this makes me wonder how you're spec'd. the extra mitigation reduction for devitalize and even rake surely don't help you hit harder, nor dispatch lasting longer. the one for despairing thrust just straight-out increases its damage. tenure increased my dps. self buffs last longer, imbued ring proc lasts longer, debuffs last longer.

i guess you also didn't spec for underground negotiations or sneak?
UN decreases the recast by 1/3, which should add dps in those AE cluster fights. making sneak a 1 second cast timer makes it feasible to drop into stealth every 10 seconds and use skewer when it's up.

even if you go with the afflictions line, decreasing the opponent's deflection and parry should make you more accurate, and thus increase your dps.

here's a thought, though, if you don't think it's adding to your dps. test it. go to the achievement guy and reset your achievement. parse a few fights. then put all your points back in and parse a few fights. do the same things in combat both times and take the average of the first set and the average of the second set.

as for this comment: "Minus Tenure our end EOF AA's suck."
there's more to them than the end abilities. i'm pretty content with what we got.
