this thread should discuss the problems we facing with how bad our set stuff is atm. i know some say it is awesome for them but lets face it:

hat -> crown of cynosure (or if you can aquire it the praetorian hat)
chest -> Coat of Static Aura (or the leather robe from avatars)
shoulders -> only bit which is best of instanced loot (or the chain shoulders from avatars)
forarms -> bracers of the codex (the ones from contested mayong maybe)
hands -> reinforced bloodsoaked gloves or the sarik ones (cant think of any avatar loot)
legs -> hardshell leggings (or some from matron which are quite good)
boots -> shadow strider or clawed basilisk ones (dunno about contested loot yet)

improvement suggestion:

hat -> give it some int and the usual +5 piercing (or maybe slashing) to it and it would be good.

chest -> stats/hp/power are quite good but omg the focus >< how about some increasement for the debuff of devitalize instead of a 2% damage increase? the increasement should be significant tho, 10 or maybe 15% more.

shoulders -> nothing to moan tbh

bracers -> idk what to say, but those are nearly as worse as the kos relic ones. some int on it, or maybe more str and a + to pierce or slashing.

gloves -> stats ftl? 27 str on it is quite good, but hello? 12 sta and agi? maybe double that and at some int to it.

leggings -> focus only helps a bit on dps, and soloing, but this is the drop of prolly the hardest instanced encounter and should help for soloing? make it increase debuffing of ruinous rake or maybe dispatch by also 10 or maybe 15% and ffs add some STR! (and some int :p)

boots -> stats low again, the + piercing i love, but c'mon. they are kinda semi good compared to the mentioned ones above, and those drop off prolly more easier mobs.

about the bonus stuff from our set:

3 item bonus: can it get any worse? 5% more proc chance (someone on official boards did the math and was about a flat 4 dps increase) on our off stance?

suggestion: increase all offensive skills by 10.

5 item bonus: well it is ok in boosing a bit dps, but tbh, i rather would like to see a boost in debuffing, this combat art is a 30s recast (28.5s with ring of the four winds) and lasts for 34.5 seconds (with tenure).

suggestion: increase debuff amount of despairing thrust by 30 defense.

7 item bonus: quite good, but still not worth enough the effort to get all 7 pieces together. 8% more crit you can easily get with some other items which are legendary/treasured.

suggestion: increase melee crit of caster by 8% and increase all offensive skills by 10.

hope i got everything together i wanted to say. and i hope someone will look into it. really dont bother with class loot atm, there are better pieces out there from instanced mobs (avatar should be better ofc). but when i see such bonus stuff like on dirge (decreased recast of cob) i just could cry... thats such a big help on raids and an awesome bonus from the set.

Especially the Focus of the breastplate...
C'mon that doesn't even break down to 2 DPS.

Meh, I have no love for the Hardshell Leggings, but that's not the point. We haven't seen the legs from Matron drop still - same with the Praetorian Hood. Just bad luck I guess.

Our set gear isn't dropping at all for us, but given the stats, I can't complain too much. My problem is that there is limited solid gear for rogues period. There are a shitload of drops for healers and fighters in this expansion, but only a few pieces of gear that anyone cares to get for rogues. I'm growing bored with the usual. In raiding every night, I'm seeing healers go through multiple drops they bid on, same with fighters, while I just accumulate DKP night after night.

I thought I would do a write up on my thoughts for the best armor for our class. I will discuss 3-5 pieces for each slot and why "I think" from experience or from looking at it on why I think its a must have. Excuse the spelling and the naming if I screw it up.

Please add your thoughts because I may forget about pieces, and I may do a jewelry write up later.

Head
1)Praedatorian Hood (Pumpkin Headed Horseman) - Not going to get much better, uber stats, uber h/p, melee crit and dps mod.

2)Arcane Enchanted Coif (Three Princes) - Good stats, good h/p, nice damage proc

3)Coif of the Wayward (Treah Greenroot, confirmed) - This is a tie I think with #4 but it has nice stats, h/p

4) Nemesis Hood (Vyemms Lab) / Fearlling-Tot Bulbone (HOS) - Both decent stats, h/p, and either have +slash or + pierce depending on what you use as weapons

5) Crown of Cyonsure (FTH) - Some might be surprised for it to be this low, and at first I was a huge fan of this helmet but we no longer have the aggro issues we had in KOS, its still a nice helm, good stats h/p, aggro reduc proc, but not as good as the above

Chest
1) Resplendant Robe of Battle(Avatar of Flames) - Tell those brawlers to fuck off, who cares if its leather. Ridiculous stats, h/p, and a 100% melee crit proc, with tenure lasts an extra .75 seconds, thats a whole ca

!

2) Static Coat of Aura(CMF) - Easy to get, nice stats, h/p, and the melee crit 4tw

3) Breastplate of the Undaunted(kos relic) - Decent stats, h/p, +360 dmg every 30 secs

4) Wayward Breastplate(Mayong) - Awesome stats, h/p, better than relic but the focus sucks. I'd only wear to make a set of 3/5/7 over the above.

Shoulders
1) Mantle of Secrets (Avatar of ? ) - Uber stats h/p

2) Wayward Mantle (MMIS, Tender) - Awesome stats, h/p, best class specific piece we have

3) There are others to chose from, just depneds what stats you need these are all decent tied for third shoulders which are better than relic: Nemesis shoulders, Hardshell Shoulderpads, Armguards of Dread

Forearms
1) Star Darkened Bracers (contested mayong) - Uber stats, h/p, 5% to double attack

2) Bracers of the Codex(Cheldrak) - Good stats, h/p, +pierce

3) Wayward Bracers (EH?)- great stats, h/p

4) Tie between cruor and matron arms forget both names but both have good h/p, and really good stats

Gloves
1) Wayward Gloves (Tacticians armor, eh?)- Uber stats, h//p

2) Reinforced Bloodsoaked Gloves (HOS) - Great stats, h/p

3) Hurricane Forged Gloves (Hurricanus)- Tied for 2nd for same reason

4) There are others but these are really the only 2 that stand out to me, and the HOS ones are really easy to get.

Legs
1) Leggings of the Master(Matron) - Leather, but great stats, h/p, and damage proc

2) Hardshell Leggings - Great stats, h/p, nice attack speed debuff

3) Wayward Legs (Wuoshi) - Ok stats, great h/p, reduc on restrain, focus sucks but its a faster ca = more dps

4) Undaunted or Nemesis Legs (KOS)- Great stats h/p, the relic have a slight reduc in devitalize which is nice a lil more dps

Boots
Tie for first here!
1) Clawed Basilisk Boots(DT) - Nice stats, h/p, real nice damage proc

1) Shadow Strider Boots(FTH) - Good stats, h/p, dps mod

2) Wayward Boots(Sariah, maybe Gardener) - Great stats, h/p better than the above but no proc or mod

Cloak
1) Mistmoore's Cloak(Mayong) - Uber haste and melee crit, I would only wear over zek if had uber proc wrists to wear over dt reward

2)Rallos Zek(Zek Quest Line) - Uber proc, free

2) Cloak of the Kindred warrior(MMIS) - Melee crit

I wrote this quick and will edit it if I forgot something, but all and all I think I remembered most pieces.

Also I wanted to add that class specific wasn't supposed to be the be all, end all, of our equipment. It wasn't designed to be the best we could get. Thats why there are other pieces better out there. If anything class specific should be an upgrade over relic, they just made it a lot harder to get because thats what us raiders asked for, heh.

Unfortunately right now the focus on the chest is no where close to good as the relic, nor is the legs imo. I know we will get more dps out of the legs than relic but I wish the focus was on a raid worthy CA not one that can't be used on epics.

about the class hat: it drops off treyloth in fth, aswell as from herald of woushi in EH. also i think the stats from the crown of cynosure are better for a brigand than the ones from nemesis hat (which i have atm, we never got the crown in 17 kills approx of zylphax the shredder).

about gloves: the only thing for i would wear the gloves of the wayward is the increase in hp i get, nothing else, and i have already selfbuffed 7.5k which is i think top 30 ww (pls dont take it wrong, dont wanna show off, only state the facts). i wear the gloves of the virtuoso atm coz of the nice int boost i get from them, hp quite low but still ok.

also i forgot about the arcane enchanted coif :/ if we ever get a shot at them again...

the bracers drop from treah greenroot, also the gloves can drop from 3 different mobs in mmis iirc.

Afaik our Hat only drops from Herald. All the classgear has been distrubuted among different names. One Named who drops hats, won't drop all 24 hats but only for some classes. See xanadu's droplists.

Concering the gloves i see a general topic incoming:
How much should a raiding brigand focus at hp/power gear?
I myself weigh hp very high when choosing my equip as i want to survive aes when AR fails me again.

I guess this depends on what role you take in your raid, though.
That beeing said i wear wayward gloves over bloodsoaked because it gives me more hp for littlle cost (only some stats lost)
It also gives me the option to wear some low hp items with good dps-effects.
E.g. str-ring really costs our hp but also really ebnefits your dps.

@Pantz' list:
I agree in most parts.
I differ in:
- Forearms
I thing wayward is #2 here, cause of hp and resistances
Also if using a slashing weapon, i think cruor's > cd's
- Legs
I favor Wayward here again.
I like the focus because it shortens the downtime, when i can't use any ca. This works well with AR.
Also i want to have at least the 3-bonus and possible even the 5- bonus of classset and if going for these boni you have to choose the slots, where you loose the least by wearing classet. I think legs is one of those slots.

- Boots
You forgot those boots frome avatar with the stoneskin proc.
I really like those.

Given that i very often will draw aggro from adds, especially when fighting avatars, i really love that lil proc.

On #2 i see wayward again, because of hp and achieving a setbonus.
- Cloak
I weigh the two haste-cloaks higher then zek-cloak, because dt-access reward sucks

and the crit% of course

(If there was no set bonus i woudl wiehg the boots the same as you did, but as said: you have to choose the slots where you loose the least by wearing classet)

well it can drop, xanadu cant ask every guild what they got from every namer to keep their loot site always right. so it can drop maybe, noone knows for sure. not even them.

and wayward bracers suck ass.... the more hp doesnt make up 14int and +5 piercing, especially that its only small hp amount more

If you take a close look at the classitems listed to what mob, there is sort of a pattern.
Because of this pattern i strongly assume brigand hat will only drop from herold.

I got my hate from Herald of Wuoshi the first time we killed it. I had heard that it can come the other place as well.

While the stats on the Wayward pieces are somewhat meh...when equipped they do end up giving more then what it first seems to your stats. Our 3 piece bonus is absolute garbage as was stated.
