Now I also have the same macro switch back to the Coat of the Wayward, but since there is the delay of 2 secs before you can switch out equipment in combat, I just hit the macro again after another CA and it will switch my BP back out.

I tested this for a while, and if you are using the 5 set bonus (reduces Despairing Thrust by 15 secs) - and you cast DT before you hit your MA macro - when you switch out the BP, Despairing Thrust will still be on the 15 sec timer.

It's not the most efficient thing to do, but it's the only way that I can think of (without creating your next CA you chain into a macro that equips the wayward bp after you cast it)....besides if you have the relic BP + Ring of the Four Winds you are gaining 640 (more if it crits) more dps per minute with doing this.

180 x both hits x twice per minute
Errr I mean you are getting a total damage of at least 640 per minute - not dps per minute...LOL, sorry I mis-wrote that.

Yeah, so not counting crits that's an increase of about 11dps

If one of them were to crit, you'd probably see an increase of about 13, if both crit somewhere closer to 15-16.

Either way, it's an increase, and i'm sure it helps out a lot on shorter fights that don't even last a minute.

Haven't seen this tip yet, so you might try this:

To go precisely from the rear to the front of a mob, and vice-versa, try firing an all-aspect CA and jumping over the top of the mob. (I can't see anything special about Underground Negotiation except that it has a long cast time and a pretty poor Dmg-to-power ratio.)

With a bit of practice, you can make both moves without breaking your CA spam, without going OOR, and can always return to exactly where you were.

Even if you can't see the Gnome you are fighting because some asshole thought being an Ogre Monk was cool.

This works for me because I play in 3rd-person using View Relative and Enable Combat Auto Face Avatar. It may not work so nicely on other settings, dunno.

Good tip. I don't know why I didn't think to post it, as I do it all the time. Works very well with auto face on.

to go along with the "put your CA's in the order you click through them" tip, make use of the hotkey setup save/load options. it's a huge help for switching between solo/raid/pvp/etc setups, which are (or should be) different.

syntax is:
/savehotkeys filename
then
/loadhotkeys filename

call it whatever you want, it'll create an extension-less file in your eq2 directory with that name. i just use "raid" and "pvp" for now (my pvp setup is control based and set up for a sailwind-timed stunlock, very similar to what i'd use for solo/heroic content).

it's a really useful command that not many people seem to know about. it's also good if you're temporarily playing someone else's account for some reason. since your current hotkeys are kept serverside you can save their hotkey setup, screw around with the bars all you want, save it how you like it, then just do a /loadhotkeys again before you log off and they wont notice the difference.

Those who use ACT while playing can use its "Triggers/Sounds" to alert you to all sorts of important stuff.

1. Play a warning sound when your poison runs out.

Regular Expression: .*?The poison dissipates from your*

2. Play a warning sound (I use the same one for all) when you are out of range, cannot see the target, or are in the wrong position for that combat art.

Regular Expression: .*?Your target is too far away*
Regular Expression: .*?You cannot see*
Regular Expression: .*?You must be*

BTW, this warning sound has taught me that I actually lose autoattacks when I hadn't expected to.

This is pure gold IMO. also, it get annoying but it forces you to get into position. Also I've found TTS to be more annoying but explains whats going wrong and why =)

Default Re: Tips'n'Tricks

I'm in a good guild, usually get a decent group. My gear is alright (6/7 eof, soulfire/thirneg thorn, bad jewelry). and I usually parse 2500ish. but I'd love to parse higher, so I'm trying to work on that.

I know upgrading my gear is going to help a ton (weapons with mismatched delay ftl). I've kinda compiled this list of what I know I could do better on (for others to see). I'd also love some critique on maybe things that I missed, or maybe that I'm just flat wrong.

1. I know I'm not using my low-damage CAs enough (walk the plank, the one that's not swipe in the str line [shows how much I use it]). Seems like it could add some much-needed dps on a cob.

2. Swing timing. I have a window set up with just my melee attacks. Problem is, with 2x phantom handles, CAs, and all of the buffs people cast on me (crypt's, cob, etc etc), it can be genuinely difficult to track my own swings in the window. Is there any way to remove everything but the autoattack swings, btw? I think interrupted swings are a problem for me.

3. I haven't been using deadly throw when I'm jousted out, and I'm not always quick enough to start up my ranged autoattack.

4. CA order

I'm usually hitting:

skewer
shrouded blade
swipe
ruckus
thrust
devitalize
restrain
MA
rake
double up
disembowel
stab
sideswipe
(stun+dps CA, can't think of it)
underground+revoke

rinse and repeat, with me hitting shorter recast CAs as they come up (shrouded blade, sideswipe, etc). I'd love to hear some critiques of that order if anybody's up for it.

5. Double Up. I've got AD3. I know I should farm the master, as it's not being replaced. will it really add a substantial amount of dps?

6. poisons. I love getting tender seeds, but I don't always get em. Are they really worth the pricetag? (guildbank only has so many, and we run scout-heavy at times)

7. HOs. I know, I know, I'm a slacker. but I haven't even had my starter on my bar. I need to get that buff up more often.

So question, on name fights I pre-cast Deceitfulness and Ruthless Cunning, then hit sneak then Rob, then Roughen, then Comprimising Thrust, then Enfeeblement, then Blood Rake, then Dispatched then then Battery and Assault and then Double up. After that I spam whatever CA's I have up. Is this an Ideal order or am I missing something? Trying to Improve my parse on instance encounters and raid encounters.
