Main Weapon (DW setup)
I've been thinking about updating my Grinning dirk and Dirk of Neg.
My sites on loot are set on
Bisected Saber
and
Rapier of Darkness
with Rapier of Darkness in main hand and Bisected Saber in off hand.
I usually don't get pampered with group setup (get whatever is left over).
and with the +7 to piercing, master offensive stance, and +5 piercing mods to both weapons, master stance, +4 (i think) to piercing on shoulders (drop from crab).
I think I'll be closer to 425 piercing skill...
Are there any other suggestions that would be better than what I'm currently thinking?

Re: Main Weapon (DW setup)
The Bisected Saber is a sword, meaning it is a slashing weapon. If you are pairing it up with anything, it should be the Vampiric Axe of Balance. Or get the Grinning Dirk of Horror and pair it with the Rapier of Darkness.

Re: Main Weapon (DW setup)
Unless you are in a group with 90+ haste, I wouldn't even use gdh or bisected. You won't get the same returns as you would the Rapier and Dirk of Negatvity.
What other dws do you have? If you are going to use bisected or gdh you want to mainhand them and have the haste to back it up.

Re: Main Weapon (DW setup)
then i would ask to be grouped with the illusionist, or group that will get you some haste, and put gdh in your mh, and don in your secondary.

No its not. Review the weapon comparisons.
http://www.eq2flames.com/showthread.php?t=113
The numbers are a little off on the dws except the dirk of nightfall because it was the only thing not nerfed post eof, but they were are scaled the same so its still true. And since Rapier is basically DoNeg 2.0... it is in fact > gdh.
edit: even if you think tangarth is full of shit as are those numbers. i can tell you from personal experience that when i didnt have a ton of haste my parses with gdh were never as good as with don or rapier of darkness in my MH.

the fact is
put GDOH on your main hand and Vampiric axe on off hand..always pierce 52% slash 48%...

Re: Main Weapon (DW setup)
I never had the Vampiric Axe of balance. Just the waning moon cutter when I was dw. Thats what I used as my slash when i parsed with ACT to differentiate the damage.
Basically when I test my dws out I go kill the 25x2 epic in freeport. I autoattack the 2 dogs down, and then the named, dont use any poisons or ca's.
I've done this dozens of times with Dirk of Neg, GDoH, Rapier of Darkness, Wurmslayer, Talonsreach (really shitty I know but back in the day its all i had!)
Rapier always came out on top followed by DoNeg and then GDoH. Thats my experience.
edit: Mind you in a raid setup with 90-100+ haste GDoH will light some shit up, and I imagine the Bisected would as well.
