Theres a shitload of 'perfect' DPS groups, or at least groups as close as you can get.

Default Re: Brigands vs Assassins & Swashbucklers

I know this post is kinda old - but i just started bouncing around the brigand boards and i had a couple coments/observations about group setups and swashy vs brigand dps limits

I find that unless i have some serious deaggro in group - i'm forced to parse a bit less than an assassin/swash because of aggro reasons. A swash/assassin in the MT group - or even one that just throws some hate on a healer - can throw out way more dps in the first 5 seconds of a fight without pulling aggro with burst dps. Especially when we're clearing EH trash at midnight and our MT has been steadily getting more and more hammered since we zoned in.

So in a 30 second fight - if a swash can maintain 3K dps the entire fight - and i have to start at about 2500 for 5 seconds and then speed it up to 3K - the parser is going to read me lower than him because i had to compensate for having a lower aggro treshold than the swash does.

Also about group setups - i dunno if anyone has had the pleasure of being in a group with a wizard that's speced for their ice form AA or whatever - but the melee proc is huge - i got thrown in a mage group and was parsing 2.5K almost effortlessly, which, while not a huge deal in itself, is better than i thought i'd do outside of a melee dps group.

To bad i'll never break 2K on a zonewide because i have a 5 week old son that makes me ninja afk :-/

it looks like he's talking about the ice shape + frigid gift combo that turns all hostile spells into cold-based spells and gives a damage proc for each cold spell cast for a short time. it ends up working something like precision of the maestro, but is a combo of two spells cast.

it procs off of things like the single-target and encounter snare, as well as hideaway, perhaps elude and taunt. unless it also procs from combat arts and i've been under a rock somewhere missing it, i'm not sure how that could massively increase dps.

it's been a couple week since i got stuck in a mage group for the entire duration of an instance - and i didn't screen shot it or anything - so i'm a little rusty on the details.

I seem to remember the frigid gift adding a standardized melee proc? maybe i'm mistaken; i'll post again when i figure out wtf was making me parse so high - like i said - i was surprised to be hitting 2500 with in a mage group as well.

troub+wizard+other mages = dehate.. high int and str... plus procs.

Not the best group out there but not the worst.

I was near 1k str... 450 int... 41% dehate.. plus procs... its not a horrible group setup to be honest.

I'm really suprised some of you are having hate issues. I stopped using bliss and crown of cyonsure a loooong time ago and even fights where I do 2.5-3k for 4.5 mins I have no aggro issues at all.

Granted sometimes I get the illus / troub group and thats some extra dehate, but ive had the same experience in the zerk / dirge ot group with no dehate as well.

Yeah, I did the same actually. I haven't been using Bliss and the Crown is in my backup bag now. No real agro issues at the momeny. it kind of feels like easy street compared to having the old AR hate.
