Agreed with everything up to this point.

In other words, lets break the brigands and then try to rebalance us into the new mix. Right. It'll never fucking get balanced. All this, just so that we can "fix" summoners. They better just leave us the fuck alone.

I can live with slightly less dps potential because my debuffs are badass.

There must be a lot of horrible fucking summoners out there. The necro and conj I have raided with were insane fucking dps - single or multi-target. And they need fixed at our expense... jfc

i disagree with the honor among thieves stuff cause itīs a nice
way to get power quickly on many situations. i also have no problem
with AR. works fine for me.

i think band of thugs is dumb. the pets debuff something yeah but
in a way its just fluff... and since you cant rename them anymore
itīs useless fluff imo.


i want to have 50% flurry selfbuff instead of thieves guild ^^
i want aeralik to play a brig and i want swashbucklers entirely
removed from the game!!!!!

Some ideas I've jotted down over time I thought would bring some unique value to Brigands.

1. Make Walk the Plank affect Epic mobs. Good situational skill to purposely rotate a mob away from the raid or MT if they were to make AE frontals devastating to the point where it HAD to be avoided and not just healed/cured through.

2. Change Appeal to a skill similar to reinforcement that the next Brig attack (single tgt or AE) forces the mob(s) to snap aggro the nearest fighter and not wait for the tgt of your spell to be hit by the mob the way it works today.

3. Modify Dispatch to have non-healers temporarily force assist through the Brigand and provide a multiplier to other player's marquee spell/combat art if used within that time. Force assist is pretty drastic - I would just take the marquee spell/art enhancement if it's too hard to incorporate.

4. Have Rake add a component that converts AE spells into sgl tgt spells for casters the duration it is up (this is probably more Lore-aligned to the Bard class).

5. Change Thieves guild to be castable on mages only which adds a spell double-attack modifier. (Basically Illusory Arms for casters).

In essence - I would be ok with where we are dmg wise, but these enhancements go to making the Brigand mandatory to significantly impact a raid's damage output. As well as enhance the lore of the thuggish rogue bandito who is up to no DAMN good but for gankin' and spankin'!

I'm amazed at all the people that think we're getting a damned thing added. SOE does not ADD anything. They only subtract things or move abilities sideways to other classes. I would gladly settle for being left alone instead of losing debuffs and getting a watered-down Hurricane.

Why not just leave brigands alone as they were pre-52 and the same goes with swashbucklers.

IDK why some complain about getting owned on single target by a swash, either thats 1 good swash or you are 1 bad brigand. On paper there is no way for a brigand to lose that battle. But it happens all the time. Is it due to over powering of the swash class? NO. Is it due to the under achieving brigands out there? YES. There are plenty of brigands who completely disregard this whole upheaval of bullshit because they know this isnt going to affect them in the slightest.

This is very similar to that of the swash mythic back when aeralik wanted to be a douchebag.

We wanted it changed but we didnt need it changed.

I dont quite know why sony wants to elimate class specific traits but this definately isnt the first time its happened and im sure it wont be the last. Brigand still are (if played right) 1 of the most dmging single target dps class. Just like assassins are and rangers. Yes it sucks that swashbucklers can keep up with them on single target fights but thats definately not a reason to whine and moan and groan to get your way. Wheres the integrity?

If they do screw over the brigand class or semi-merge it with abilities the swash has it wont be game over. It will just be a huge nuisance and another obstacle to circumvent or not even deal with.

SOE should just leave brigs alone like they should conj/or any other class getting tampered with. Things were fine pre52 and it be nice if they remain that way post 52

The history of the game proves out that certain classes come in and out of favor over time/per expansion. Mainly because of the difficulty of class balancing but I believe mostly to the inability to actually TEST content.

It is about our due to take it up the pooper-scooper and then maybe by the time Everquest3 rolls around we'll be top dogs again once more like in the days of DoF with full AE immunity, or like Summoners in KoS, Guards during EoF, Warlocks after launch, or like Chanters/Sks are right now.

Just wait your turn baby, wait your turn...

We would be the most hated class on raid and most likely would never be allowed to cast Rake then and would never want to cast it either. The rest of what you said was ok but I don't see the benefit of "taking away" AEs.
