Starting this thread to get some ideas thrown out on how to better the brigand class, to identify current brigand issues, and to post information on possible upcoming changes pertainting to the brigand class.
This post will be updated constantly, and I ask that it be stickied if that is ok. Also Please if you have an idea/issue/change post it, I will put it in the appropiate place in this post and give proper credit.
Current Brigand Issues :
1. Little to no AOE dps.
A) One aoe ( two with double up, but in most situations doubling up our AOE hurts our dps neways )
B) Give brigands a second AOE?
2. Outdated or useless situational aggro tools.
A) Ruse sucks if you're not soloing, change it please, not only that using ruse doesnt guarantee you'll get hit, so u spend even longer on the ground, stunned and doing nothing. Also many times the brigand will ruse a mob, only to have the tank get aggro 2 secs later, thus the brig is left lying there doing absolutely nothing.
B) Appeal for mercy is so outdated, raid mobs one shot pretty much everyone now, and group mobs don't live long enough for deaggros to matter. Change this please.
3. Outdated or useless AA's/AA lines
A) Wis KoS line sucks. There is no reason at all to ever use 1h. Change this entire line, I compare wis line with the old bralwers STR line, yes it's that useless.
B) Honor among thieves is outdated and next to useless, what ever happened to the AA slide from eof beta? ( teleports the brig right behind the target ) Least that AA was an original idea that had some use, why can't we get that back? The AA line itself is alright, but it's not the like EOF tree in general is awesome. heh.
The following technically are both issues and ideas.
C) Enhance Battery and Assault, the only issue I have with this AA is it requires both hits to land, which is really quite stupid imo. It could be changed to better represent it's idea though, make it so AOE's do 30% less damage, or AOE's do 15% less damage, and have the range reduced by 15%. Also change it so it applies if the first hit lands, even if the second misses.
As for the line change it to have a more meaningful effect on our debuffs. Like for Enhance: Gouge, make it so it adds a 5% accuracy debuff on the mob at rank 5.
For Enhance: Puncture, add a dot effect that progressively reduces the amount a mob auto attacks for. ( I.E reduces auto attack weapon damage of mob instantly and ever 2 secs, duration 12 secs. )
D) Will to survive is a very messed up AA, either make it unable to miss, increase it's debuff duration to an absurd amount ( like 5 mins ) or change it completely. Right now if you land this CA and then miss the next time the gets it's hp back, it's a cool idea but poorly implemented imo.
4. Amazing Reflexes gets stripped by damage shields
A) Idk if devs meant for this mechanic to take place or not, but if they didn't, this issue needs to be fixxed. It makes no sense that AR procs and 1 sec later gets stripped because the mob has a damage shield.
5. Thugs!!
A) Our thugs suffer the same problem that all limited pets suffer from! They suck balls! They don't get any beneficial buffs, they don't have any particular use, and often die 3-5 secs after being cast due to a frontal, damage shield, and/or aoe. Change this CA completely. It is our level 65 ancient teaching, but does not reflect such when compared to DoF ancient teachings.
6. Theives Guild
Atm this buff is useless, and doesnt help the group/raid at all, nor does it help the brigand. Pehaps when the summoner changes go live it might be of some use, but not really. Change it please.
Brigand ideas :
1. Mythical Ideas :
A) Obviously change the myth to increase all behind only, AND flanking attacks, not just behind only.
B) Change the 10% increase in debuffs to be a 10% ( or more ) reuse to all flanking and behind only attacks, or just make it a constant +1-2 seconds added to double up.
2. Short buff Ideas :
A) Change deceit completely imo. Make it a 20 sec 3min reuse buff that increases accuracy, damage, potency, and crit bonus of all behind only debuffs ( had to of put some limit on it heh ) or have increase damage and potency of all CA's/debuffs.
B) Change ruthless cunning completely.( this will effect both swashys and brigs ) Make it increase casting/recovery speed for a short amount. Let's say 10%? maybe 15%? idk what an appropiate value wud be tbh.
C) Give brigands another short buff.
3. CA Ideas :
A) Add a new component to dispatch that disables a mobs damage shield by X amount of seconds ( with an immunity timer added too, like Jcap, to prevent stacking ) This idea is amazing, it fits in perfectly with the idea of the CA and will help a shit ton with the absurd amount of damage shields put on high end mobs.
( I believe Ezekil put this out in brig chat awhile back, and it was also mentioned in this thread. )
B) Add a component to debilitate or one of our debuffs that removes a mobs ability to strikethrough for X amount of seconds ( maybe 10? who knows ) or just lowers the chance for a mob to strikethrough in general. In all honestly this idea might fit better on the swash class, as this is an offensive based debuff that will help the MT and OT's tremendously.

4. AA Ideas :

A) Make an AR AA that adds .5 sec to duration of AR for each rank and at rank 5 have it make AR unbreakable for it's duration when it procs. This would fix a major issue with AR!
B) Have a dispatch AA that increases the damage of the brigands next combart art by 30% ( maybe even next 3 combat arts, 1st by 30%, 2nd by 15%, 3rd by 7.5% )
C) Have our Plank Walker AA make Avast ye a frontal AOE proc @ rank 5. This would help brigands in the AOE dept.
D) Make and end line AA that adds a second weaker attack to all flanking/behind only CA's or all behind only CA's ( I.E Dispatch inflicts both 1k-3k and gets a second hit for 400-700 etc etc)
D) Make an AA that decreases a mobs accuracy and/or crit % by 1% for each debuff the brigand successfully lands.

Upcoming Possible Brigand Changes :
1. Removing all magic debuffs from the rogue classes
2. Interlacing rogue abilities between the two class, swash and brig. ( atm it is not known what abilities we are getting/losing though )
