I've always played rogue-style classes in MMO's.

So I knew when eq2 released that I was automatically going Scout -> Rogue -> Swash or Brig.

The guild my wife and I hooked up with in beta was evil based (back when we all thought it was going to matter) so evil it was.

Well my main is a Fury so when i hit 70 I wanted to play something fun and different. I had originally wanted to be Ratonga Swash, it was around the time that swashies had the ruffled shirt looks and i thought that would be awesome looking on a ratty. However after playing the brig to 20 ish i found myself really enjoying sneak attack. So i stuck with it.

For me, it was solo-ability. I've played a few classes and hands down, this class is the most resilient, and consistent soloer in the game. I'm looking forward to the next level of play as I start to raid.

Played a ranger from launch (Always loved the idea of a ranger). When they fixed the rangers proccing bug, and my guild needed a raiding brigand... I started one. 2 weeks later, brigands had AR nerfed. I soldiered on. ATM its a tossup tween my ranger and my brigand as to who I like more.

That sounds vaguely familar. My main is a ranger, been playing a ranger since launch. Love the class. I rolled up a brigand in KoS for 2 reasons. The first being that our guild needed a brigand (and it seems that whenever I roll a class, they find that class), the other being, more or less an experiment. At the time, ranger DPS was pretty lackluster without a decent bow, and they were few and far between. Statements like "why bring a ranger when a brigand can do as much dps and offers so much more utility" were the second reason. Comparing 2 different classes, played by 2 different players, never really meant much to me. So I ran my brig to 70 to see if in fact a brigand could parse as well on it, as I could my ranger. Sadly, at the time, I could.

I love both classes, but the brigand is definately an easier solo class to play. I dont forsee giving up either class, and the brig is a nice change of pace... however my heart will always be with my ranger (good or bad, Im afraid)

When i started the game, i think it must have been a little after dof, mate intorduced me to it, Brigand was the coolest sounding class.. i mean, comon! a pirate, running around lundering sounded like fun, didnt end up like that though but still. I quit the game now anyway, but just my 2 cents

Paladin through T5, switched to guardian in T5 to raid tank, switched back to paladin for DoF, paladin in early KoS. Quit for a month or so, rolled a Brigand and now wont settle for anything less. KoS guild needed a Brigand which is the main reason i started.

originally rolled a scout > pred > ranger.
got bored and rollled a warlock.
thought scout would be fun again, so started an evil scout, thought predator was boring before, so went scout> rogue> brigand.
of course if i had gone with my usual rogue i'd have been a swashy, and probably ended up never rolling the brigand.

sad there's no archetype/class/subclass quest, i rather enjoyed the rogue and brigand ones on the evil side.
