Heya,

Avast Ye says it procs a damage off each successful melee attack.

Does this actually only proc off primary weapon? If so, does it then help to have your shorter delay weapon in the primary hand?

i think it's just main hand, combat arts, melee attack procs (like the planar orb).
i'm under the impression that the proc % is normalized to your weapon / attack as with anything else.

longer delay and haste will still net you more dps.
