Well I guess a more reasonable upgrade might be to make new boots that ward for a high amount of damage, like 8K or 10K. Maybe that number is too high or maybe not. How bout boots that trigger a ward that changes based on the type of mob that triggers it.
If a solo mob hits you, 10% chance to ward for 1000. Heroic mob hits you 10% chance to ward for 3000. Epic mob hits you 10% chance to ward for 10000. Ward lasts 15 sec.
IMO that COULD be an upgrade to the current slippers, of course it's all situational, as the pair i mentioned would benefit more on a mob that hits fast and light, where the slippers would benefit more ona mob that hits slower and harder.
